I see lots of banner competitions at lower rates getting submissions so maybe the original note was too long, let's try this:

Need a banner for a personal domain portfolio sales site. It will be called NetPlots.com. I like the real estate metaphor for domains hence the name, but along those lines don't want anything with a picture of a house, that's too literal. Otherwise, use your imaginations. Also need a 72*29 matching icon for linking to it from my other sites.

It won't get you huge traffic, but winning banner creator is also welcome to have a link to their portfolio on the 'about this site' page.

Hi,

Thanks for the submission. I like the design overall but the "netplots.com" needs to be easier to read. Also, I didn't specify a size because it's not important overall as the site is not yet built, but wouldn't the size of this put it more in the territory of a logo than a banner?

Okay, I'll try to do it more narrowly.

But what do you mean with "easier to read"? more contrast to the back or an oter font?


I think this one looks more like a logo.

So this is really for a web page header, not an advertising banner? If so, I am guessing the width of it should be about 760px. I might give this one a shot.

I think the final page size will have to forsake 800*600 without scrolling in order to display 3 columns with a good sized domain table in the center so I'm going with a 1000 pixel width.

So, banner height let's say 80 or 96 pixel and width anywhere between 600 and 800 - I will use the slack for a search bar.

Like both of the two entries so far, but they'd need to be modified for the new sizing. Sorry I wasn't more specific up front, I figured more freedom was better but should have at least give guildelines, my bad.

Thanks for the find DTrax. I wonder if this is something we should point out to the mods, or more of just a "buyer beware" situation..

Like both of the other two submissions to far, very differently styles, going to be hard to choose. Maybe a third one will come along that makes it easy :)

Okay. I realise that my banner has nothing whatsoever to do with Domain Sales. But I couldn't find any inspiration, andthis banner I'm postingnow just cameto me randomly, as I was going along.
