Review of submission service
REVIEW: Ordered submissions on 06/22/08 and I received a report that the work was complete today, 06/28/08.
The report is an Excel spreadsheet that lists the directory, what category the submission was made in, and the title used, OR if the URL already existed, which for my site was true for about 220 of the 1269 sites.
I was disappointed about only one thing and have mentioned it to Richemoney. When I provided the submission information, I included an email address that I created for the confimation emails. I did this because while not all send confirmations or ask you to verify the submission, many do. This provides several things:
- Positive proof that your submission is being done.
- If they show you what was submitted, you can see that the information is correct. (I have had submissions elsewhere where things were misspelled, words cut off, or the site was submitted to the wrong category. It's not fun to get the final report to discover this...)
- Sometimes you have to click a link to verify the submission. If you do it, you know it was done.
- Most of the confirmations are spam or junk, but many also contain information, offers, or links to other directories. Don't treat all directory owners as pests. They are your partners and should be considered as such. You are partners because they are giving you a free listing, and you are providing them with quality content with your well-written site description. It's a fair trade and both sides should consider it as such IMO.
Despite my disappointment with the emails, I will say that when a submission service offers to deal with the confirmation emails, that is a great thing if they really do it. I appreciate that it was done for me, I just wish I had been given the option. I did some spot checks at some of the directories and found the listings with the information I had provided. This was different from the list time the site was submitted, so I had proof the work was done.
Summary: Satisfied. Communication can always be a problem when working with a new service provider. Make sure you know what you are ordering and make clear what you expect to receive. If you do, I think you will be 100% satisfied with the submission work you receive from Richemoney.
