Hi guys,

I am new to parked.com and at first I was very impressed. Good CTR and very nice selection of templates. However, I have 2 domains that are both the first results on google for 2 common typos of a VERY good keyword, with over a half million searches a month. When I first put these domains up, I had what I expected. About 15 visitors in the first update. I had 8 clicks, at 0.22 a piece. Today, it is the exact same. No more visitors, and the amount per click dropped to 0.06. It is definitely not a banned keyword, something that every person in America generally checks on a daily basis. Does parked.com not allow traffic from google? I would email them, but I noticed I only get a response during normal business hours. Any input would be appreciated. :)

As far as I know Parked seem to have just about the best customer service in the domain parking industry, so don't be afraid to e-mail them.

Statistics with an asterisc * are estimates, so the figure can change after a day or two and you'll see the true figure.

I don't think the concept of 'normal business hours' is that important at Parked.

Chances are you'll get a response much earlier than expected, so I won't speculate on the circumstances of your particular case.

In principle traffic from Google is not banned, but it could be if those domains got there in a way that's not allowed - for instance due to inbound links that the domain owners placed or arranged to be placed from elsewhere.

That's just my humble attempt at answering your last question in principle, in anticipation of a much more specific and helpful response from the man himself.

Thanks. It is just that I had these domains parked in a couple other places and they were getting at least 1,000 visitors a day each. Yesterday on parked I had 15 visitors. Hmph. ;)

And no, they got there by regular indexing by google. For some reason no one had every thought to register these typos. And they are very very good typos.... and clean ones at that. No adult themes, illegal associations, ect.

Wow this is a lot of posts that I have to catch up to. Brad shoot me an email to donny at parked.com. I'm assuming the issue is that most of the traffic is bot or 404 traffic, but I could tell you in about 30 seconds.

I'll get to the rest in a bit.

Thanks donny, msg sent. And let me put it on the record that I am still very impressed with parked.com. I mean, I have a domain that has to do with Chinese Dragon art, and sure enough... they have a template called Chinese Dragon! At Sedo I get CLASSIC, SIMPLE, GREEN, PURPLE. LOL. :)

It gets even more exotic than that. Think of five long tail keywords (as in rare) and check if they have useful templates - you would likely be even more impressed.

As for the other company you mentioned, the capitalized words actually have a hidden meaning. One can construct a short sentence using the words in that order and it would be a pretty entertaining commentary on some users' experience there.

Varon - I talk to you on the phone for an hour or so the other day and now you know everything! Nicely written.

Donny : Why u didn't still add automated optimization for landing pages?something like change color of templates ...

We do have this buiilt in already. Look at your page, then take a shot of really bad tequila. Look at your page again. If it's the same colors as before drink 2 shots of tequila. And continue until the colors are different.

I've tried this one before and it does work. Just please don't do any drunk clicking.

On a serious note, the ability to do this is already in our system we just never implemented it due to time constraints. When we launch our new editor, it will include the ability to rotate layouts and colors if that is your choice.

In my opinion, The two click lander, is going to have to be revised to be able to attract nice CTR, It needs to be as website like as possible, Large, long page, A header graphic and ect. It is much like ParkingDots , right now, Kind of just a small page, small fonts, with all the subjects cramped together, Not appealing to a net surfer,Imo

I know some people don't think we have the best landers in the world, but compare our 2 click Yahoo CTR to the other companies that have a 2 click domains from Yahoo. I bet we beat them! Don't get me wrong, we are already working on a system that will have as many landers as you want, design your own if you want. But right now our CTR is high for a reason.

Fantastic response Varon..

Are you saying it can be too late to add meta description? This is something that I have never done but I do see where to add it at Parked.

Also is this something you do yourself or is there a meta description tool?

I see this example <meta name=”description” content=”Your description here.”/>

Given here here http://www.recommendedwebtools.com/index.php/498/how-to-create-a-meta-description-tag/

but I do not know what the meta name should be, what the description should be the content or the second description...

Dn, Its not late as such. But, if your site has already been indexed, it may take time for the crawlers to visit again (unless they visit parked.com pages regularly). From my knowledge, search engine crawlers don't visit parked pages very often.

Its very easy to add your meta description to your parked.com domain. If you notice, just next to your domain name, there is an edit tab. (portfolio view, report view). If you click that tab, you can see lower down, under advanced options, the ability to add a title tag and also a meta description tag. In the title tag you enter a short title like "best payday loans 24/7" etc. In the meta description you enter a lengthier description like, "Payday Loans Made Easy. No Credit Checks/No Faxing. 30 Minute Approvals. Bad Credit Welcome" etc.

I have 2 questions for you or anyone.

1/ when putting in meta tags etc, can we just enter words separated by ,

or do you have to use < > etc.?

Arnie, I see the 2nd question was answered.

You dont have to separate your words in the meta description with any separators. You only need to use the "," when separating meta keywords. However, the meta keyword is almost obsolete now. I wouldn't bother about it.

In fact Yes Donny. We spoke for exactly 2 hrs.. and I did learn a lot about parked.com's system, quality score calculations etc. I really appreciate all your inputs. It was a really nice gesture.

Btw, talking about tequilas, the next time you've had a few of those, just give me a call. I'm hoping I'll get the answer to the highest paying keyword on Parked.com... lol..

each KW pulls up different related KW's on both the 1CL/2CL (CL=Click Lander). For example, here is how the parked.com KW system works with ref to a 2CL. The total related KW links pulled up are 23.

If my KW is Debt Consolidation, the top header would break up into 6 related links...

... breaks up into 10 links of which 5 KW's are pulled up from the header. So its 5 new KW links. Later item 2-4 are broken up into 4 links each totalling 12.

In short, we have 23 KW's, each associated with different CPC's.
Varon, you described in exact detail what I meant with this post:

I would like to see Parked's system make it easier to remove keywords, similar to Parking Panel.

eg: set keyword seed for domain which populates a list of keyword/s and lets you quickly and easily delete them so you can only use 1 keyword if desired.

This can be achieved with Parked, but the remove keyword feature adds up timewise.
What I am wondering is if the feed will ever list all related keyword links, allow us to easily delete them (like Parking Panel) and stick with one KW.

Imo, that might need a complete template revamp. The current template seems programmed to pull up 23 KW's for 2CL's and 15 for 1 CL's. Btw, since you mentioned PP, I'll add some interesting aspect about their KW strategy.

In the case of PP, the root KW only helps get in related KW's but in no way relates to the final CPC. The final CPC is actually based on the actual related KW clicked on. I mean, even if your root keyword is debt consolidation, and if someone clicks on a related link for "debt consolodate", you might end up getting a lower CPC.

I was thinking it could be implemented in the edit domain page, populate a list displaying all related keywords, easily editable to only keep the ones we want, objective making it easier to get 1 CL's.

That might be interesting and could be very helpful if implemented. But, there is also huge scope for misuse. You can imagine what's going to happen. Most domainers are only going to add the top keywords and leave out the lower paying ones. Most feed providers prefer that equal exposure be given to all advertisers irrespective of their budgets. It might lead to a situation where the lower budget advertisers who rely heavily on content and search partner networks, might have no place to advertise. I'm sure nobody wants that.

We also have situations where a particular KW may have its advertisers run out of budgets. In such a situation, you might end up showing no ads/lesser paying ads on a particular KW. I feel (not sure) the current parked system, in such cases, brings up the next best alternative keywords with more advertisers.

I just went to "Refinance Your House dot net" and changed the meta tag to:
Refinance your house, 30 minute approval low interest, Lenders Available 24/7, Refinance Official site

Also changed the title tag to "Refinance Your House" I had been putting the exact domain name in the title tag combined with it's extension.

Just isn't enough time in the day :) I need three of me!

Thanks so much Varon

What's that got to do with me saying Parked.com pays ME better than AA?

I've compared hundreds of names and AA is much lower on the names I've compared.

Others may have different experiences.

Congratulations! Your in the Parked.com thread?

If your spending, that should tell you something...Investing is another.

I also have an AA account and PARKED.COM outperforms them in most cases...there are some exceptions, though ;)

To everyone who has added custom content to their Parked.com pages:

Did you see any difference in traffic, CTR or Search Engine Indexing?

I'm just trying to figure out if its worth the time and effort to customize my sites.
