Saadkhosa
has created three separate auction threads for the domain lay4 dot com

https://www.namepros.com/threads/bundle-eyeservant-com-lay4-com.1227499/
https://www.namepros.com/threads/lay4-com-1.1228719/
https://www.namepros.com/threads/lay4-com-for-sale.1241465/

In the first auction, which ended on or about February 13, 2021, the winner was apparently PixelCorp and Saadkhosa somehow managed to delete her high bid post off the thread, and left a user message on her profile to the effect of that he will not deliver at her winning bid price:

In the second auction, ending February 21, 2021, the winner was Lil85 and again Saadkhosa refused to perform.

The third auction, I won June 21, 2021, and Saadkhosa sent me a private message (witnessed by Alfa Mod Team) again affirming that he will not perform:

I became aware of the two prior auctions sometime after I won.

Given the repeated violations, I think Saadkhosa should be booted out of NamePros (or at least completely restricted from further selling) if he doesn't perform and sell the domain to at least one of us high bidder winners.

Agreed, if you don't want to sell to the highest bidder put a reserve on or start the auction at a price you'd accept.

what is wrong with some people - starting an auction means you are obligated to sell at the highest price or BIN - it's not a question of not wanting to.........

@Saadkhosa even if you are not banned permanently (which you should be) then your name is muck and no one is going to do business with you again.....all for the sake of a few lousy dollars, hope it was worth it....

The point of all this is that Saadkhosa has listed the same domain for sale multiple times in multiple auctions and has refused to sell (and is continuing to refuse to sell) the domain to any one of us high bidders. Let's face it, he's not going to release the domain to any of us, is the point of this thread.

I became aware of the two prior auctions sometime after I won.

Given the repeated violations, I think Saadkhosa should be booted out of NamePros (or at least completely restricted from further selling) if he doesn't perform and sell the domain to at least one of us high bidder winners.

It's like that line from Swingers:
I don't care if I end up with her or one of her beautiful baby friends.
i.e., I don't care if Saadkhosa sells the domain to me, or to one of the other auction winners - as long as he sells it!

You guys can do your part and leave a negative trade review. Having only 3x negative feedback is almost as good as a ban. It'll warn other members if he'll try to sell it again while his account isn't suspended yet.

It's not ideal that there are several claims in the first post that turned out to be incorrect, though. I understand that it happens in the heat of the moment; we all want to see justice prevail, so we can end up getting excited and jumping to conclusions.

When we restrict an account, we need a solid trail of evidence in case it's ever challenged. We need to be able to document exactly how we came to each conclusion. Threads like this one have a tendency to blur reality a bit. This thread was created just under 24 hours after the matter was brought to a moderator's attention; it would've been helpful to give the moderators a little time before encouraging public speculation. The moderator did give you a deadline by which point @Saadkhosa had to follow through, and that deadline hasn't been reached yet. Now that more information has come to light, they may opt not to wait, but obviously getting the domain to the winner would be ideal. It'll be up to them.

it looks even worse for the seller. Saadkhosa not only ignored the winner, he contacted the slightly higher bidder PixelCorp and told her that he wouldn't even accept her bid and asked her to make a higher direct offer.

Yes, there are several behaviors here that don't look great. It would be helpful if people could report any DMs or other communications they have received relating to this matter so they can be taken into account.

Thanks OP for posting this. Wondering why there is no restrictions on the alleged criminals account.
No negative trade reviews with 3 failed actions. Thanks for keeping us informed Paul

Only thing I hate more then someone cancelling a sale is someone refusing to pay.

Saadkhosa somehow managed to delete her high bid post off the thread

This is interesting, what happened here exactly?

After investigating further:

In the first auction, which ended on or about February 13, 2021, the winner was apparently PixelCorp and Saadkhosa somehow managed to delete her high bid post off the thread

That's not true on multiple counts.

For one, the first auction had no bids. @PixelCorp's bids were on the second auction.

Secondly, a moderator deleted her bids bids because they occurred after the auction had already ended. She would have received the following alert:

Invalid bid removed / The auction was already over / Thank you for understanding.

In the interest of transparency, I've restored the affected posts, along with another late bid that was deleted.

It wouldn't have been clear that the auction had ended, given that @Saadkhosa was continuing to bump the thread at the time, but the moderator's conclusion appears to be correct: @Lil85 is the legitimate winner of the second auction.

The third auction appears to have been won by @xynames, but that whole auction will likely be considered invalid given that @Lil85 won the first auction and @Saadkhosa failed to follow through.

The first auction never had any bids, so that thread isn't relevant here.

If I leave Saadkhosa a well deserved negative feedback, what's to stop him from unjustifiably retaliating against me with a neg? Although in general it seems like this guy is as asleep at the wheel as NamePros members and mods were in letting him keep creating auctions for the same domain, such retaliation is possible.

I think it would be the duty of the mods to remove blatant retaliatory feedback, especially with this level of documentation.

It looks like Paul and mods are looking into the matter and have given the member a deadline to honour his agreement.

While the members actions are unethical and not in the spirit of the forum rules, I don't see that a crime has been committed ;)

I think some of the problems mentioned are caused by the way auctions take place via normal messages on this forum. Although there are NamePros guidelines for the message format and the auction process, it is not a full-fledged auction platform that has been designed for this purpose from the ground up. And although the moderation is usually fine, there will be situations that the moderators won't notice by themselves, while they should. Such as non-delivery followed by restarting the exact same auction with the same domain in a new thread.

There was some 4L auctioned in november. Closed to verify ownership. The end. No update.

That's usually a bad sign, though I can't speak for the particular incident to which you're referring. If there's no public update and the domain auction never continues, that may mean we suspect it's stolen or not in the seller's possession but can't prove it. It can also mean that the seller simply wasn't willing to offer proof of ownership.

Still no negative trade reviews or warning on accused account.

There's a placeholder warning on the account while a moderator continues to work with the seller and the winner, and the account is being monitored. It'll show as a restriction if @Saadkhosa still fails to honor the auction, but we're not going to do that without giving @Saadkhosa a chance to resolve the issue now that a moderator is involved and the rules have been explained. Of course, if they decide to use that grace period for shenanigans, it'll be cut short.

I think some of the problems mentioned are caused by the way auctions take place via normal messages on this forum.

Agreed. On one hand, it offers a lot of flexibility; on the other, that flexibility can make oversight difficult.

@Paul while we have you here i reported shill bidding a while back and mods seems to think nothing was going on even tho couple of other users noticed the same thing a group of 5 users shill bidding each other.

If you'd like to DM me or add me to any relevant DMs, I can look into it.

Yes, I think marketplace restriction is appropriate. Thank you for working to protect NamePros and its members.

It would likely be removed by a moderator if reported.

why isn't he banned? @Alfa Mod Team
According to the rules here, the bidding is binding

I explained the situation in a lengthy post earlier in the thread, but the seller has been given a deadline, June 28, by which they need to transfer the domain. That corresponds to 7 days after moderators were first alerted of the issue. That's the same deadline that was given to them before this thread was created.

Of course, if they choose to abuse that grace period, it will be cut short.

I'd like to take the opportunity to thank the mods for all past assistance provided. Although it can be a lengthy process (relatively speaking) once you alert them to an issue and they step in things will be set in motion and they act appropriately.

This thread illustrates nicely how important it is for people to report 'shady' buyers and sellers. Help out your fellow board members, report things and leave the trade reviews so others don't have to waste their time.
