i thought it would be real nice to share some of the emails i receive from fellow domainers trying to sell their crappy names.

hopefully, some of you will read these and stop sending or see the mistakes they make so you won't make them too.

here is one from Andrew Brad, and if he is a member here...he's a clown! why? because he included every other email address he sent this mail to. thus one could harvest his list and spam them too.

To whom it may concern,

The premium generic aged domain FREDLOYAINSURANCE.NET is up for sale and I am emailing several parties that have registered similar domains OR use "[fredloya], [fredloya insurance], [loya insurance], [fred loya claims], [fredloya locations] etc." as keywords in their advertising campaigns. This is a 6-year old domain, with no drops since it was registered in 2006.

According to the Google Traffic Estimator the keywords ‘Fredloya Insurance’ receive over 40,500 searches every month, thus making this a high SEO premium domain worth thousands of dollars.

Right now, the asking price for FredLoyaInsurance.net is just $250, and is available on a first-come-first-served basis. Yes, you read it right, $250 ONLY.

This is a great opportunity to acquire a great domain at a throw-away price. If you have any questions don't hesitate to send me an email or call me directly at +91. 939-2774-412.

All transactions will held either via Paypal or via the secure services of Escrow.com.

Best regards,

Andrew Brad

Domain Broker, FredloyaInsurance.net

if any of you receive such emails, feel free to post them so we can expose the spammers.

Thanks

Thank God!!!!
Just received an email saying that iPadHoc.com is for sale on Ebay! What a fantastic name, I don't know how I could have lived life before knowing about this name.
Wonderful that ipad is a trademark, and what the hell does 'hoc' on the end of it mean? Still, a magnificent find and I'm thrilled and tingling with excitement to find that ipadhoc is for sale at a reseller price, finally. And I feel touched, there is a tear running down my leg, knowing that this domainer cares so much about me, just me, to have singled me out for this truly heartfelt gift.
The only thing better that can happen is: I'm still waiting for someone to reg a name off my Bannen's Best available names list, and then email me and try to sell it to me. Just a matter of time :)

Another to add to your email's blocked sender list:
mobeen.anwar[at]hotmail.com

---------- Post added at 09:16 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:14 AM ----------

Mor-ta-ge.com

Plus, it is a typo (unless you typed it wrong). Mor-tga-ge.com would be 'much better' since it is correct spelling.

Look what I got yesterday:
Hey,

While preparing to develop and/or sell my domain I noticed you (or your company) are the owner of ##############.com, so I thought you might be interested in my ##############.co.uk or ##############.org. I’m willing to let either go for only $500 or both for $700.

Let me know if you’re interested…

Cheers,

The .com in question is a domain we bought for 2K and it was reported in DNJ a few days ago.
The two domains mentioned in the E-mail were actually available... Were :)

Here's one i received the other day.

The domain they wanted to sell me wasn't even close to my domain, it shared a few of the letters and that was all they had in common (hence my examples used below).

BUT the best part is that they actually used the number "0" for the number of searches AND the PPC values -- Way to sell it!

Gotta love it!
Hi,

We noticed that you currently own "mygreatdomain.com" (correct?).

The domain name "mygatain.com" is for sale, which is similar to your domain and may help in driving organic traffic and improving SEO. There are also 0 global searches via Google per month. Not to mention that advertisers are paying $0.0 per click.

We are charging a one time fee of just $??? for this domain. If you are not interested, we understand and apologize for the inconvenience. However, if you would like to acquire it, please let us know for we are connecting with other online businesses and this domain will go to the first who replies.

Don't discount the value of making the email list public to the recipients, especially in highly competitive and niche markets. In some cases, it can be one of the biggest selling points. While no one likes to be beaten over the head with blatant reality, sometimes that's exactly what you need to do in order to move them to action. Compete or die.

I realize we're not talking about quality domains in this thread, but from a general end-user marketing perspective, I thought I'd throw that out there.

Sometimes I wonder if some talented, but needy people are having to work in a domain spam sweatshop where that day's family dinner depends on the pittance received for sending out the most solicitations in a day.

Here's another idiot that has been spamming for some time.
Interestingly, this spammer offers real quality domains - for a change.

I looked at the whois, just to see who own them and how old these names are.
They are unregistered. Well not anymore.
Some people are trying to sell stuff they do not even own, which is no less than misrepresentation.
Here we can safely say it's a bottom-feeder.

I rarely read this type of spam messages as they have been marked as spam and they never get the chance to get in my inbox! Those type of marketing techniques is an epic fail, its year 2012 yet they act like it is still the early 2000.

Got about the 5th spammail in the last couple of days from someone promoting "mortgagings" dot com.

Dear Domain Owner,

(Always nice to start with the personalized approach  )

Time is approaching for mortgagings . com,
???
this gives you an opportunity to lock in a deal in order to compete against other clients that are interested in the same domain name.

Do not worry about what your competitors are doing beat them with your traffic by making a bid for mortgagings . com today:

And it looks like the url to "make a bid for" the name (in redemption period) is the same as the url to unsubscribe (from annoying emails I didn't opt into in the first place.) What a surprise.

I received a email today from a guy selling dating domains, I wont pollute this thread with garbage by posting them, the names are so bad you couldn't give them away.

Here's the email;

Hi,

I am reaching out to you to gauge your interest in acquiring these niche dating domain names. I would be willing to sell them individually, or collectively as one portfolio.

I have put the individual prices next to each domain. The asking price for the whole collection of 49 domains is $11,999, or under $245 per domain. If you remove GlobalCupid.com from the collection, the asking price for the remaining 48 domains is $8999, or $187 per domain.

If you are interested in multiple domains, but not the whole portfolio, I will still give you a significant discount; perhaps as much as a 50% price reduction depending on the domains.

Please let me know what you think.

John

GlobalCupid is a great name, I admit...but you are right that emailing to resellers at times is a lost cause, but email is cheap whether it is sent to one or one hundred thousand addresses. Guess the theory is to throw em all up on a wall and see which one sticks...
Not the best way to sell a product but it's all a numbers game.
