NNNNN.net Countdown

I know these are going to start getting registered really soon. As some of y'all know, I've started.

Last I heard, there were less than 50% available. Many zip codes have been registered along with many other types. There are still many words to be spelled out, and series of numbers. It would be cool if someone could get a list of what is still available.

I've already registered the following:
1. 00070.net
2. 00090.net
3. 05550.net
4. 07770.net
5. 22422.net
6. 22522.net
7. 25552.net
8. 27272.net
9. 27772.net
10. 28882.net
11. 29992.net
12. 31113.net
13. 33533.net
14. 38883.net
15. 44244.net
16. 44744.net
17. 54445.net
18. 59995.net
19. 66639.net(Money)
20. 99499.net

There is a "Short" Domain Discussion now.

Generally defined as easily resalable domains of 5 characters or less -- LLL, LLLL, L-L-L, 2c, 3c, acronyms, etc

Will countdowns ever stop?! :)

Many domains will be dumped at reg fee for a very long time.

Good Luck :tu:

That was a slip on my part. I forgot that forum was there. Many domains will be dropped, but I think these will rise.

Bump. People need to start getting these. People went to the LLLL.nets when the LLLL.coms were registered. It's time to start registering the NNNNN.nets because all of the NNNNN.coms are gone. There are also a lot less NNNNN.nets than there are LLLL.nets.

I'm not a naysayer and I think there probably are a lot of good NNNNN.net's available, but I don't think people should blindly register NNNNN.nets right now. Here's what I posted on a different thread:

There are about 48% of the NNNNN.net still available (approx. 48,000). If you say that NNNNN.net are worth 1/10 of the .com, then they're not worth anything right now unless it is a nice US zip code or otherwise valuable (spelled word on cell phone, important Chinese number sequence, good foreign postal code, etc.). Good luck finding a nice US zip code .net though, Marchex directs all their zip code .com's to the .net version. NNNNN.com that have no remarkable features seem to be trading for around $15-$25 right now, so a random non-premium NNNNN.net would not be worth anything. I think the value of numeric domains, and NNNNN.com's in particular, might go up a LOT in the next few years, as people discover their value in the rapidly growing Chinese market, mobile phone search market, and as foreign postal codes (among other possible development uses). If you can get a NNNNN.net that would be good for these markets (like a nice Paris postal code or a great spelled word on a cell phone) it might be a smart investment. Otherwise, it's a pretty risky investment right now.

I agree with rkb, I think its a little premature for a countdown.

It might not be a bad idea to pick up a couple really nice ones like zips or repeating numbers now, but as far as "buying them out" I think you money could be better spent in other places at this time. :imho:

Good luck with those. It will probably take a few years, but I feel these will go up in value.

Since >50% of these are registered, I have added a link to this thread and a mention about it in the Short Domain Buyout thread. However, there are many types of short domains that are more popular with over 80% bought out and only a few thousand left for reg fee and so I wouldn't recommend these types of names unless you know how to pick the better ones.

NNNNN.net which are palidromic, only have two number types or specific zip codes for US/Germany/etc... may be interesting sub categories of NNNNN.net

Thanks Travis - I regged them after you brought the NNNNN.net's to everyone's attention.

I wouldn't recommend registering just any right now. It will probably take 2-3 years for the ones I registered, to gain value.
