I started in the IT industry in 1982. For 15 years I owned and ran an IT Consulting Agency; back in the day when IT Consulting all about establishing relationships with the consultants and the clients. Now consultants get an e-mail with "send me your rate and resume", and clients go through a Vendor Management provider.
Now I'm doing computer consulting (infrastructure mostly) for businesses with 2-50 computers. I have reasonable SEO skills (my current business site makes the Google “7 Pack”), and decent web site development skills with Drupal and the usual Adobe tools.
I’m looking to learn more about legitimate ways to monetize web sites and leverage technology. Still wading through the literature from Adsense to SEM and trying to put it all together. I’m also trying to start another IT Staffing agency; mostly for contingency placement, but also partnering with some quality IT Consulting agencies for placing consultants.
