would you have to have trade mark on jerry since tom and jerry

Having a trademark gives you extra legal protection. But you'd best consult a
TM attorney if you're looking into registering for one and making sure it does
not infringe on other existing marks.

I think the same word can be trademarked by different parties but in different
categories or classes, depends on what the trademark office says.

I don't think if it was like jerry.com it would matter about tom and jerry but if you went t&j.com or tomjerry or tom&jerry or tomandjerry
