I'm on Dreamhost, and I'm getting tired of the reliability issues. They have fanstastic bandwidth/space, but, I don't need so much.

Here are my requirements. Please respond only to those requirements. Don't cut/paste the cookie cutter version, please.

1. under $10 per mo
2. an SLA (note your guaranteed uptime "or else"; what's your backup or failover process)
3. great customer service (*)
4. Perl, PHP, MySQL, Ruby On Rails, (JSP optional, though preferred)
5. at least 10 domains to host
6. 10 GB bandwidth, 1 GB disk (more is a "nice to have", but worth very little to me)
7. 1 free domain (optional)
8. Web FTP

(*) Yes, I know you are great. Prove to me that you are. One thing about Dreamhost, that while their reliability is iffy, their customer service is fantastic. Show me that you have a forum where you take your lumps from your customers and don't ban or censor them. Show me that you actually messed up somewhere and how you responded. Dreamhost is all about heart and doing the right thing.

The Pro package gives you 2GB [2000MB] of space and 10GB [10000MB] of bandwidth. If you happen to have say, your site featured on Digg and you use all of your bandwidth, since it was a one off event I'd unsuspend the account once the rush of traffic has stopped.

We run DirectAdmin, which IMHO is better than cPanel [and my more experienced clients agree!]. It includes a filemanager which lets you upload, chmod, and edit files - everything you would expect to be able to do with a FTP client. Of course, you can also just use any FTP client too.
