Does anyone know of a tool that can you give you an approximate date/time when a domain will expire. I remember someone that had a website which actually had something like that but I can't remember the URL anymore.

Can someone point me out to a site that does this? :tu:

There used to be hard and fast rules that worked in about 90% of cases. There are so many exceptions now that it's really hard to define, since many registrars don't even drop names any more.

A quick search led to this page which shows how it's technically supposed to happen.

I understand what your trying to explain, but is there any kind of website tool that for example if you enter a domain, it will roughly give you approximate date and time that it will be available?

Thanks for the website, but here's the thing that's really weird. I have a domain registered at eNom and I didn't renew it all or anything. Another thing is that it hasn't even dropped yet and it says that the expiry date is in 2006?

The Registry autorenews the expired domain name for one year while the
registrar attempts to get a renewal payment for it within 1-45 days. If
unsuccessful, the registrar will delete it, and the Registry will refund the
registrar for that 1 year.

Check the domain's WHOIS in the registrar itself.

Alright, thanks for the heads up. As a matter of fact actually I found an application that does what I ask for. In other terms it predicts the deletion date. For those of you that want to check it out it's called Domain Name Pro. Unfortunately it's not free, and it has it's limitations in terms of how many domains you can search at one time and of course 30 days to evaluate but that's alright. Check out the link below:
