Hey all,

I need to know... at what alexa rank do you "draw the line" between a good rank and a poor rank?

What's the average rank?

Thanks for any help,
-Matt

haha, this is the perfect "it depends" question.

Personally, I hate alexa...what is a good rank and a bad rank? It is all relative...1,000 is a terrible rank for google, but I would kill for that rank. I dont take anything past 100,000 very seriously since it can be artificially skewed so easily

gee i dunno i care less about alexa only on google and yahoo.
but according to http://www.gurudaq.com/
100,000 or less. HTH

So 100,000 all the way to 1,000,000 or less is POOR? Then everything ABOVE 100,000 is good?

NamePros is at like 1,772 or something (can't remember exactly), so that's great, right?

Any other opinions on this?

While I agree that websites can be screwed if they are in the higher number region, website that are in the top 150,000 tend to get relatively decent amounts of traffic. It is pretty tough for a website to break into the top 35,000 without having substantial amounts of traffic.

yes to both questions.
when your site gets listed on alexa, it will be ranked 5,000,000 and then it will lessen and lessen until you get to 100,000 and until the top 500 that's how alexa awards the sites and mentioning the top 5 sites on it's frontpage. HTH

...but before you build on claims of websites that it can "cheat" alexa out of it's ranking style on the websites. i have the url but i won't mention it here. and if you like it i can pm it to you. it's not my web site lol

well anyways what the heck, it's here:

Oh, hmm....

Would this affect a domain's value if it was put into an automatic appraisal system? I'm asking, should I weigh a domain's value on its alexa ranking along with google and OVT results?

Thanks,
-Matt

alexa ranking i treat as guides only but i take seriously google/ovt/yahoo results much more. HTH and believe me rankingbooster is not alone there are gazillions of copycats out there that does the same services for you and there's even an online service for that to increase (decrease) your alexa rankings but i forgot the url.

Again this business in not a pure math...
I have a nice .org that has 2,000,000 ranking in Alexa + some links and it is having great traffic : 180 unique visitors per day.
So the formula of Alexa + links + (PR if you can) could be nice too.
