Hello,
You may have read my thread in the web design discussion forum: http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=144443, where i basically asked people what they would want in a gaming site (feel free to take the survey still :D). Anyway, i took these ideas and have created a design although it's not coded yet.

Be as ruthless as you can, but please be constructive. If you don't like something, don't just say 'i don't like it' explain why you don't like it. This way people will be able to create better design and it means that people will do the same for you when you post a design.
