I’ve officially announced PhpOG CMS, a modular PHP 8 content management system I first planned back in 2004.
I am debating making the base system free, open source or premium. Depends on if I find enough donor interest. I need more than Ramen to eat haha
It’s being built with vanilla PHP, MySQL, JavaScript, HTML and CSS, without frameworks, page builders or a pile of third-party dependencies. Core systems including publishing, SEO, caching, customer accounts, protected downloads and module management are already working or being tested.
The first public stable release is planned for Christmas 2026.
I’m calling the project WordPress Killer, but the goal isn’t imitation. I’m building the kind of focused, efficient and complete CMS I always believed should exist.
