Is there a resource / website / tool that helps understand domain's life cycle.
Something simple like a calendar where you pick the date of domain registration and it auto fills other fields like date of expiration, extended date valid for renewal, date of drop, date of name available for fresh registration.

Something like automated tool.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
It's a lot more complex than just looking at dates. You must consider the registrar because the cycle varies. How godaddy deals with a name is different than NameSilo. You also must consider different extensions.

A lot of people wait for domains to expire, it expires and then they cannot figure out why it never deleted. They don't know about the auctions etc.

That's the point.
Aren't all registrars governed by ICANN?
There should be a single cycle of registration date + x for expiration and x + y days for drop

What happens to names which are already expired and on auction before drop. What happens if the names are not bought and they didn't appear for fresh registration?

Why rules not same for all registrars?
