not a great sale at all! There will be less good .in names selling for way more in the future.

I'd like to hear the real reasons for sending the name to auction for that low a starting bid.

This should have gone for more, based on past .in and even .co.in sales. The premium certification restrictions on Sedo might have something to it.
Again Sedo auctions are not a good avenue in a lot of cases. It would have been better to wait for right end user.

Considering SportsBetting.in sold for $42000+ (30,000 EUR), Hosting.in was a steal. We're talking about one of the most valuable keywords out there, along with Insurance, Business and a few more.

If this was a "real" offer I doubt you will see any more offers like this in the near future (if at all), for $8k you could have invested in some real gems...

Personally I would have jumped at any offer 2 times reg fee and higher or drop when renewal comes up..

Furthermore I googled PE India WEB/NEWS and Private Equity Companies popped up
like crazy. Therefore I made/make them a few offers and see what happens!

For $8K from an India based end user I would have ripped their arms off taking the money and running to the nearest Casino knowing my luck was really in!

In all due respect to the owner of p-e(.)in. I rather sell my domains to end-users instead of having them parked(I only have a few parked).Furthermore I contact potential end-users that, in most of the times,never were looking for a domain name to increase traffic,turnover etc., but instead , invest in advertisement like flyers,radio and ... you know the thrill.I think in terms of making money with .in and yet even .asia there is a big cake out there we all can eat from but we have to hustle in order to make a sale.

get in touch with the p-e(.)in owner and broker the sale to the same guy that offered $8k for the .co.in version...

you'll grab a nice commission and you can keep your 5 day old beloved p-e(.)co.in lol

and in regards to parked pages, it's easier to make a sale with some ad content then a blank page.

Are you sure is $ and not the local currency is India (Rs.). Because most of the time, the buyers think in Rs rather than $.
