5 years on NamePros - A thank you to the site that changed my life.

Five years ago today, I received an offer for a domain name London-2018.com. Speculating an event after reading about domain names when trying to find a domain for my Computing project at school, I dreamt of one day selling a domain for big bucks. To my amazement, I received an enquiry from someone by email who wanted an appraisal after offering $800. As a 17 year old, I was buzzing with excitement at the prospect of making $800 from a domain I bought for just $5.95. I needed advice as I had no idea how to conduct an appraisal and how to transfer a domain. I was out of my depth. So I came across Namepros after searching for help on Google. Signing up and posting a copy of my email to the Namepros community, I was left deflated after being told that it was a scam.

But rather than just give up, I worked my ass off to get a real offer for real money. So I browsed Namepros for countless hours meticulously trying to grasp hold of an industry that offered massive rewards. I thought...I'm going to spend all my savings on one domain name and see what happens. A massive gamble looking back...but ultimately a gamble which paid off. The .tv registry had just released premium names that hadn't been renewed over the last year, and one domain stood out for me...it was Scotland.tv. $250 it cost to register this domain. I thought...I live there, I've done my research, surely I can't lose! Although it took a while to sell, I managed to close a deal for just under $7,000 - a massive amount of money to an 18 year old and I've never looked back since.

5 years of browsing Namepros every day has lead to me posting over 3,800 times and earning over six figures from domain sales alone. So for those of you who have just joined Namepros, in five years time, you could be looking back and thanking Namepros for giving you the life you have today :tu:

Cheers Namepros!:hearts:

Hey Kev,

It's nice to see someone you like personally finds success.
Of course your glad they're happy, healthy and pursuing
a goal or ambition that keeps "that" drive alive .... but it
is particularly refreshing when that person , or others, will
take that next step of appreciation in the simple form of
acknowledgments. Your humble appreciation is evidence
of your good character. :great:

Congrats on the "groove" you've devloped. You deserve it.
