![]() | imagine if you only knew about how much a .com was going to be worth you would have bought one. domains are really only new to all of us. you used to just be able to get it for free. so domain will only increase in value if they are good ones. I say new extensions are a good thing for the internet and for it's growth. I say ICANN keep them coming. |

????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=326671 How can more extensions possibly increase the value of existing extensions, it just gives more possible products not less to sell or be found. I think they are going to cripple any chance .mobi or any .specific extension has of doing well, besides the usual, .top level country ext and .international extensions, which I think all these unwarranted extensions will only add value to top level .com's for example. They need to take their time which they will never do only seeing dollar signs, sad but true. Five years from now when the market is flooded with '.pointless extension here', people will be looking long and hard at ICANN's handling of releasing so many in such a short period.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | More extensions the better... Here's why. Everytime new extensions are released, the leakages to .com increases. So when an owner of a domain name with a new extension promotes their new name "domain.boo", the owner of "domain.com" will enjoy up to 35% to 45% of leaking advertising traffic coming from that new extension. I have personally watched friends and family put ".com" on everything no matter how well I've spelled out "domain dot boo" they will just put in "domain.boo.com" or domain.com... ALL THE TIME lol so keep'em coming! |
