It seems .PRO is slowly coming out of the cage with cheaper reg prices than they were a year ago and major registrars like netsol taking notice of the extension and promoting it. B-)

Here are some that I picked up in last couple of days:

Alexandria.pro

Anchorage.pro

Arlington.pro

Belfast.pro

Birmingham.pro

Budapest.pro

Durham.pro

Fairfax.pro

Italian.pro

Lisbon.pro

Fire away with your regs after the relaunch on September 8th, 2008.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
I attempted to add a post earlier this morning about a specific geo domain in a large California city that had changed from a .com to a non-.com TLD.

It appears that Jurgen Wolf didn't like the TLD of the non .com, I guess that's why he disliked the post and apparently Eric Lyons thinks the post was promotional.

The post was relevant to the .pro thread because there is much discussion about the value of non .com domains including the example that was presented.

If the members of this site and site moderator cannot accept a little conversation about a non .pro that is relevant to the .pro discussion in this thread, what is the point of this thread and blog?

Please keep the .Pro thread about .Pro & not .Travel or other extensions.

Thanks,

Eric Lyon

Hot Hot Hot !

Gold.pro has been sold for 7,000 USD

Homes.pro has been sold for 5,000 USD

Immo.pro has been sold for 5,000 USD

Immobilier.pro has been sold for 5,000 USD

Huge sales and big news. Great Job reporting Terol

ok i feel better..have not posted for a while..

About a year and a half ago someone posted that smile.pro has sold for 2k and I thought maybe it was undersold

I also suggested that right about now we might start to see .pro prices escalate. could this be the sign ?

I am hopefull for all the .pro holders , users and risk takers have been right all along... its about bloody time.... .com than .pro and then .whatever it is after all the ONLY professional extension

I also noticed a very popular domain blogger posted about these above mentioned sales...... which is very interesting as some of the popular domain bloggers have mostly passed on this extension

this is not meant to ridicule but just to congratulate the ones that have continued to stick their necks out, the new .pro regs from all over the world that continue to push the extension forward

Note: there are awesome .pro one word dictionary names available....it could be the.com longtail will take a temporary break and one and two word in many gtlds will start looking good to new investors...but who knows

If i where new to this today....I would seriously consider one and two word .pro

and not meant to talk about "other" tlds but seriously one has to wonder with the type of sales that .pro continues to spit out....there are 300k .pw regs ?

Seriously ....guys/ladys...no really...and I dont care what registry reged what for spam to push those above mentioned numbers...this is now bordering on embarrassment...the .pro extension is not a debate only a missed opportunity

and a very recent 3 letter.net sold for $39k but homes.pro $5k maybe this is just about us not been better salespeople....or maybe we have to wait our turn...I say hog wash....5k is a steal......seriously $5k for homes.pro ( i do however thank the seller and buyer for putting us on the map again )

There are 2 types of buyers: endusers and resellers.
So recheck these domains after some time…

This is about Schilling…
Also my individual brokerage request for EURO.XXX was totally ignored.
And I don't want to work with him anymore.

russia.pro sold for EUR 3,500.- (Sedo).
WHOIS updated: bought by Philipp Gross (well known domainer).

How is that a good sign ? A domain name flipped from one domainer to another domainer, who'll sit on it waiting for a bigger offer. This TLD doesn't need more domainers, it needs more end users :imho:

Is that a bad sign?

It is not perfect but it's good to know that domainers invest these amounts in this extension.

The reseller market is also very important for any TLD.

Thats a good sign Jurgen.

Agree. I've been holding Pros for a long time now and seeing knowledgeable domainers take an interest is a nice booster shot.

I've been away for awhile and while I'm sure I was missed terribly I am out of touch with renewal costs. I spent a small fortune last year renewing at EnCirca at $15. Are there any better deals out there at trustworthy registrars? Any other updates on Pro registrars would be greatly appreciated! Thanks much!

$9.80 Reg @regtons.com
$9 Transfer @hover.com (with promocode HONEST)

Would it take six months to transfer 150 names or would I be able to do them all at once?

Bulk transfer is possible @Hover.
For 150 domains I recommend you to contact their Support team.

.pro has been stagnating since 2012, it may have reached a plateau.
I think it can certainly start shrinking.
For example, .name is a TLD that has lost many regs, I think it has to do with the introduction of .me.
Now I don't know if .pro would suffer from the introduction of .corp . inc .ltd etc if they were to be marketed without restrictions. Time will tell. But I'm not optimistic about .pro.
Even .pw has got twice as many regs almost. It's not that the marketing of .pw has been good, but it's more about the total lack of marketing from the .pro registry. It is perfectly understandable that end users are not mesmerized by a registry that is on auto-pilot.

Imagine what it might have done without restrictions. Do you suppose the idea of restrictions was from one man or was it a group screw up?
