Anyone else registering 3D domains?

It seems that 3D is going to be the the next must have technology, according to the big brands, they are all launching 3D TVs.

I attempted to find good 3D names but the best domains are already taken, I think in 5 years time or even less, those generic 3D domains will be worth a lot. :imho:

Anyone else registering 3d domains? Do you think they have a future?

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
This is the results I get from the Google tool,

[3d tv kit] 36 global monthly searches
[3d tv kits] Not Enough data

If you look at the results (that isn't what people are searching for), it is mainly junk results and sites where you have listed the name as, "3d tv kits .com", eg the namepros results,

Google

Click through past the first page and you'll see the results are just duplicate listings. Look through those results and there is only one genuine use of the term by someone unrelated to you.

That is it.

I was referring to the the google search bar. You should try using g00gle .com instead of your local browser. (and turn off personalized search)

3D Side Effects?

OK.. from everything I've read, you will need to wear the 3D glasses in most cases to view the 3Dtv's.. There are some models being developed that you will not have to wear the glasses for but they do not produce the same quality eye-popping images that you see when wearing the glasses.

One of my first questions is, what is this gonna do to our eyes? ... :gl: = D-:
I personally get headaches and blurred vision after watching a long 3D movie at the theatre, like Avatar.. I do have bad stigmatism which might play a role in what I experience.

I checked the net and found a few articles talking about the subject. Here is one that stood out:
3D TV launch flags health concerns

So I decided I'd go ahead and jump on the bandwagon.. sort-of.

I figure medical sites do well with PPC and so do electronics, so why not combine the two.. ;)

I reg'd.

3DSideEffects.com
3DEyeDamage.com

I realize it's a bit of a gamble. But if this really does catch on, especially in kids and gaming systems, I imagine it will have side effects for some people. Even if it's a small percentage it might be worth the registration.

I'm using the google adwords tool and google.com, that is the only way to get proper search query and results data. The term simply isn't being searched for, well only to the extent of 36 per month on the singular.

The g00gle link in your post took me to g00gle.com.au

The whole point of what I was saying is that when I searched for the term on g00gle .com search bar a month or so ago, there were nowhere near the amount of results it gives now. I never said in my post that all the results concerned my domains. There are all kinds of companies selling 3d kits, and as the 3d tv sets start selling, so will the viewing kits. I don't expect the term to have any search history because it is brand new technology.

I think two mistakes have been made,

1. Confusing search queries with search results
2. Thinking the results themselves are meaningful when in fact they are a mix of duplicate entries and where you yourself have mentioned the name by posting it as "3d tv kits .com".

That is highlighted by the fact that I could find only one instance of the term "3d tv kits" being used on Google that wasn't a comment from you. It doesn't matter what version of google you use, the results are much the same for the term.

Hopefully you will wake up some time and learn a little more about this business, stay away from tm's listen to what more experienced people have to say and maybe, just maybe you will make a success of it.

I won't be holding my breath though.

I posted a list a page back how about you look at it, I see 1 possible problem with guess3d and when it's a trivial pursuit type of site the TM issue won't be a problem. I really don't care about the DM game in fact when I bought my first 3d domain it was MY IDEA and I did not get any help or advise from the internet or friends. Its only after I scored 110 names did I see I was not alone and I made a few mistakes hitting TM names but hey ya live and learn. I have no doubt my 60 names will bring in over 5 million when this thing gets hot, Heck 3dmobilenetwork alone is going to be a 7 figure pay day You can take that to the bank Danno

1) Ok where in my original post did I write Queries or Results ?

2) You chose the domain with the lowest search as your example. Obviously the plural which gives less than 1000 will show more of my input than the singular with 6400.
There are plenty of mentions of 3d tv kit on the pages I can see.

I do understand how to use keyword tool.

While this thread has been very entertaining, I have stopped at four so-so 3d domains.

It's true that most of the good ones were registered years ago.

But good luck, all.

Interesting thread, we have many niche names in our portfolio, but 3D names (for the most part) will be of transient value until the next tech takes over. It really depends on how quickly you (or your client) can execute on the passing of the trend.... IMHO.
