I figured it would be interesting to learn how the blogosphere and the public at large are reacting to the latest news and developments related to dot tv especially in light of the recent announcement related to the .TV Premium Auction at Sedo, starting on April 1st in which DOT TV names previously considered Premium Names by the registry will be auctioned off with standard (i.e. ~$25) renewal rates.

Sedo and Verisign Teaming Up to Auction Off the Entire Available Catalog of Premium .TV Domains
Tune in to Sedoรขโ‚ฌโ„ขs .tv Auction April 1-8

If this trend of releasing premiums continues, I do believe .tv will have an excellent chance of becoming mainstream.

A lot of buyers would be willing to pay a one-time aftermarket price, but no one wants to be burdened with a yearly high premium.

I allowed some pretty good .tv domains to expire because I didn't see much of a future for this TLD. Now maybe I'll be kicking myself.

Such is life.

don't kick yourself... there's 55k+ premiums left, after you cut out the filler (imho, over half) and dig deep, there's lots of gems left. I'd like to add, I look at them from a development standpoint.

This whole thing (again) has disappointment / .TV "reality check" written all over it at this early stage, IMHO. :guilty:

Good Luck,

Please kindly explain to me how all of this recent forum activity / "news" is bullish for those presently owning :$: HEFTY annual Premium ".TV" domains, and how this is positive for the development & promotion of .TV websites and its "ecosystem"?

Thanks for any insight,
Jeff B-)
