10 minutes before the auction was over, control panel and auctions screen stopped displaying. i've tried 3 different internet connections so it must have been from sedo..
I didn't get to put in a single bid and there were 6 names i was waiting to put bids on! most of them were about half to one third of how high i was willing to go, 10 minutes before the auction ended!
if i were mtld, i'd be particularly angry right now and ask sedo to redo the auction...
The idiots had all the auctions expiring at the same time.
(granted they only have been doing auctions for a short time)
The servers must have crashed, most people were not able to get in for the last 5 minutes. I think they had a system that was supposed to extend a auction if there was a bid in the last few minutes, but if there was then it did not work.
Not at all sure what happens now, if they will go with the last recorded bids or reschedule the auctions (and get more servers).
We are aware the there are some problems with the .MOBI Auction at this time. Due the down time we were not able to extend the auction before the set closing time. Some bidders may have received emails saying that they have won the auction, however because the system was down the highest bid at the time the system failed are not binding according to our terms and conditions. The auction will be up and running very shortly and will be extended by 20 minutes to ensure all interested parties can place their bids. While this is unfortunate, the good news is that the problems are due to the large number of last minute bidders! This is the first time an auction has brought down our servers due to such a large amount of activity.
Be assured that if there is any additional down time again, it will again be extended to ensure all bidders can place their desired bids. You may want to check your buyer control panel to see if all your bids were logged properly. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Best Regards,
But, it is highly doubtful that you would have won those domains at the price you did had others been able to place their bids in the last moments.
Now the good news is even after they extend the auctions, final prices will probably be lower than they would have been if the auction process went smoothly without this glitch. Many bidders assume it is over and won't bid when it starts again. So you still may get a good bargain.

As we can see, Sedo's stance regarding this matter has been posted around. To clarify a bit further, though, the auctions will run until 3 PM EST (New York/Boston time for those international individuals who may not be sure).
We apologize for any inconvenience caused but hope all participatns will work to make this a successful auction event.
sorry to hesar that.
sedo were warned about getting decent servers and spacing the auctions. as usual in one ear and out the other. not sure if mtld will choose them for next auctions whener they are. no doubt mtld will be getting a lot of correspondance to see that sedo don't
IMHO this should be the first thread people read if they are new to this issue - otherwise it's very difficult to make sense of the hundreds of subsequent posts, many of which seem to assume all readers lived through these crucial minutes and hours following the Sedo auction in real time.
There are clearly many new people coming here lately to get the basic facts regarding the Sedo 3 auction extension, and it looks like many of them are having difficulties because they lack the essential info they need right at the start.
