The unbracketed search counts the times both words are found but not necessarily right next to each other.

Example: A site might say " We have your business needs covered. Check out our new logo."
Since both words appeared on the site the words count for this first set of search results.

The bracketed search results are for an exact match of the phrase and sites with "business logo" on them would come up in those results. These are the results that really count when it comes to keyword domains.

Actually, that's not quite right.

I think Think is confusing term frequency with search popularity.

The number under: Average Monthly Search Stats - business logo
means broad search popularity (how many times these terms appear in searches per month)

The number under: Average Monthly Search Stats - [business logo]
means exact search popularity (how many times the exact term is searched monthly)

term frequency is given only for phrase match (how many times the phrase "business logo" appears on websites across the web) and is under this section:
Search Overview:
Avg Search Results (keyword):


Also, exact match is much more strict that phrase match. the brackets signify that only the searches for the exact term (business logo) are counted, the search may consist only of these two words and only in this order. So if you put into the google or other search engine:
business logo <---- only this search counts
business logos <----- does not count
buy business logo <----does not count
logo business <----does not count

well you get the picture.
