GoDaddy's Parking Program

Anyone see this? I saw they have their parking program available as a new option. Anyone here planning to pay for parking? I can't see where they get the nerve to charge for a parking program when they are benefitting from the traffic your domain brings... And the fact that every other parking site doesn't charge... I don't know, some people are just stupid.

Yes, I know this one. Another evidence proving GD is not for serious domainers.

whats most ironic about the program is that you can register a trademarked typo and they will park it for you for free and collect all the revenue, but if you dare to pay for parking with them and use that same domain, they will reject it based on it being illegal/immoral. What a joke! its like a pedophile priest, most of the time they do the honorable thing, but once in a while they molest a kid. you can't still be a priest while doing that. thats my rant, more corrupt crap i cant change

trying to milk newbies for more money + more money

I think its ironic that Bob Parsons makes public statements claiming certain registrars are shady for allowing "domain tasting", and then he goes and creates his own flavor of equally detestable business practices that are completely contrary to accepted standards. I guess as long as he's making money off of it, it's alright. I'd just like to know how he'd possibly go about justifying this program without means that would equally justify domain tasting.

VERY TRUE

Not surprised as GoDaddy is a "retail" registrar (pricing, products and services designed for the general public) versus a "institutional" registrar (for serious domainers and companies) such as Moniker.

Anyone have an example of one of their parking page examples?

Not a deleted domain or renewal, but an actual domain tha is using their parking program. (Or are they not even different).

I doubt anyone here would have signed up for it, but keep an eye on any other boards ( Non domain-name related ) that you may visit and I'll guarantee someone will bring it up.

Ok, I bit.

One month at the lowest tier = $2.50 after coupon (save10)

http://www.rxs.us/

Nothing fancy, nothing special.

Do they allow you to link to a TDNAM listing for sale? You'd think they'd at least integrate their own services...

Please let us know when you eran your $2.50 back :)
When do they payout ? after what amount?

At least they don't have a bunch of traffic leaks on the page.

I wonder how the 80% payout versus the under 50% for Sedo and Namedrive would factor into some big parking producers.

I thought about doing it myself allan,,,,,Logic tells me,,,,If they want that monthly fee,,They will monetize the DNs and drive traffic to them,,,Very possibly a nieve notion on my part,,Still none the less what is 2.50 to try it out? I probably will .

I will. Part of the delay will be that in one place they list the stats delay as 48 hours, and in another they list it as 72 hours, so it will be somewhat difficult to compare apples to apples.
Also, my first "beef" is that they speak everywhere about "forward your domains" to the parking program, but never gave the address, and my queries have yet to be answered as to the URL.
One thing that was nice was that when I added the domains to the list of "to-be-parked" domains, they automatically changed the godaddy registered names, and they were resolving in minutes.

Wild West (an associate/affiliate of GoDaddy) has a form of PPC parking, but it's only for resellers. No charge, but no decent control panel or reports...Problem is the actual owners don't get any of the PPC unless they are resellers. I'm told they have plans to eventually have PPC for all owners. Click pay is sometimes very high, but no way of knowing the domains clicked yet; they are just lumped together. Have had several $3 - $10 clicks, but quite a few $0.00. Their page looks similar to GoDaddy, of course, and is nothing to write home about. The overall control panel is very good--many, many features, and changes happen very fast. A little awkward to buy domains sometimes because of too many extra offerings along the way, but not bad when immediate checkout is used. .com = $7.85.

3(ish) day update; I'm not sure exactly what time frame is reported, but no matter what, the revenue is down to date (Excluding the above RXS.us that many of you all apparently clicked, as the CTR was 60% ;) ).
Impressions/Views are similar to Sedo and private label, and CTR is similar (Although slightly higher at GoDaddy), but the revenue is much lower for me. Even if I had paid the premium to get the higher % share, I'd be down.
However, this is not enough evidence (As G's thread alludes to) to suggest that all would not benefit from GoDaddy's paid parking program, or that it is "bad", it's just not working as well so far for me.
That's all,
