Type of Contest : LOGO Design

Prize : $30.00 ($20 bonus for matching banner)

Contest End Date & Time : 17th April 2013

Size Requirements : 250px x 100px (Vectors preferred but to this ratio)

Color Requirements :I have no hard and fast color requirements. I am currently sorting the site layout and color scheme so can adapt as necessary.

General Requirements : The logo and banner would be for a new social network style site which is not currently up and running. The site will be called Rock Profile. The site is geared towards unsigned bands and bands signed to smaller labels. No band material should be used to make either the logo or banner. You have the freedom to design something appropriate, Feedback will be given on any submissions.

Additional Information : As intimated in the prize $20 will also be given as a bonus if a matching and suitable banner is also created. The banner should be 250 x 500 (Vectors preferred but to this ratio)

Out of your suggestions I really do prefer this 1. This 1 has a better coloring. Slightly duller than the other but IMHO the other was a bit bright. The wings are a classic rock symbol as well.

The only criticism that I might have at present is the word Rock in the center. Not sure if it is something that can be fixed as such. It does look a bit crushed (as opposed to profile that expands to fit the space). The lettering also looks as tho it has been shifted anti clockwise by 5 degrees or so. This might be more of an illusion from the space offered by the letters RP. Could you have a quick play to see if expanding the lettering makes changes improves this aspect?

I am really torn between which 1 I prefer. I can see merits in both of them and I think they will work very well in the site that I am building. I am going to gain second opinion as well but will post further later.

Please keep the rules in mind everyone, you may NOT use any clipart, Stock, or other peoples graphics as they all have some form of copyright protection. Even free or paid clipart / stock images have a user agreement that strictly stipulates the image may NOT be used in a logo / brand / tm.
