The LLL.com sales report & discussion thread

We need this one too guys :)

This guide will also help LLLL.com holders to understand more the value of their 4 letters .com based on how expensive the similar 3 letters .com are.

From:

http://3character.com/priceguide.html

Pricing Guide for 3-Letter (Composed Of Letters Only) Domains:

Current Observed Minimum Wholesale Price (regardless of letter combo) as of February 1, 2008:

3-Letter .com - $6700 (+ $300 since January 1, 2008 report)

But I consider their guide a bit old since they are not taking in consideration the emergenging countries that appreciate other letters and as we have run a poll here several times lately, the majority of people consider the letters U
and W to be Premium letters.

Let`s have a look at some recent LLL.com sales as reported from NameBio.com :

Completely agree.

Fvz.com - $5,100
Eqw.com - $5,211

Fvz has 138k search results, while 157k. I still believe a proper CVCV.com should be worth much more than these.

Assuming prices continue to fall, we might begin to see more of the lower end LLL.coms in the hands of endusers. The devaluation (crash) we've seen in the LLL.com market doesn't surprise me at all -- these have been (and still are) being traded among domainers at levels quite similar to what most endusers have been paying for them.

I could never wrap my head around why a domainer would pay 7k+ (a few months back) for a very poor LLL.com that stands very little chance of finding an enduser when a much better all premium example could be had for double that.. Made no sense then, makes no sense now. Domainers most certainly are to blame for why the low end got so significantly distorted from the rest of LLL.coms.

additional point: It's very interesting to note that the whole "American economy" argument hasn't been affecting NNN.coms to near the extent we've seen with LLL.coms. Their rise in value has of course been much slower over the years and I would imagine most are held by long term investors rather than short term flippers.

I would like to sell my TQB.com (2 nice premium letters, BIN $8,900). Where is the best place to sell?

Thanks.

NNN.coms = 1000
LLL.coms = 17576

Rarity plays a major factor. Both are in a different league imho.

I doubt it will have much of an effect on that, most of low quality ones that often get flipped have very low enduser demand. This is, and has been largely a resellers market, even when they were $199.

I think in time though we might at least see these names more out of the hands of very short term flippers, and back to them being a bit more of a "buy for a couple of years" type domain instead of "buy for a couple of weeks".

Pure speculation, when something rises at a dramatic rate people will get in regardless of how poor the fundamentals are.

Right now, the floor appears to be at $5000. If it drops below that, I expect the number of panic sales will increase markedly in the short term.

That one was a charity auction so wouldn't read much into it.

MCC had a very strong revenue stream, along with EFS. MCC had strong parking income, while EFS is developed and drives tax return leads - these were most certainly sold on a revenue + generic basis.

This sale hurt me after my tidal wave of recent end user sales... a cool $3,000 loss after commission... after purchasing for $7,800 just 2 months back. I guess you can't win them all :)

LLL.com's with 1-2 bad letters are turning into balls of fire and some are backfiring on the owners.

Concerning LLL.com's with anti-premiums, it will not be long before we see prices ice down to the $4k freezing point. Speculation had prices soaring through the roof. Reality is bringing them back down with a thud.

Triple-premiums, however, are having a ball. These beauties are dancing all the way to the corporates for development.
