Hey folks,

I don't usually post in this forum but I'd just like to make you all aware of my recent experience w/ sectorfour aka. volonetworks.com. I hired him to code a tableless layout for me. He agreed and offered me a 30 day unconditional money back guarantee, which I accepted.

He sent me the layout on time, but he had used had some tables (he explicitly asked me if tables were ok, I said no) and it also wasn't expandable w/ the content, something which is necessary for such a website - with several other mistakes/"bugs" in the code, which I notified him about promptly via e-mail on 20th Jan. Since this was an urgent project and the issues (such as the non-expanding layout - the layout was one "background image") would take possibly days to fix, I had another guy code the layout (my "frequent" coder, who was no longer busy), and took him up on the money back guarantee.

Yesterday I sent him a private message via NP w/ a copy of the e-mail incase he hadn't received it. I checked earlier and he'd visited NamePros at 2:49pm (it's now 11:30pm) but still hadn't replied. I found his AIM and below is the log.

(I'm 'whois', he's 'volonetmatt')

I'm happy to accept the promised refund and forget all this ever happened, but I can't give you many more chances, Matt.

Scott.

ok Scott looks like i will have to refund you since your out to try and make me look bad, when im not and when I spent hours apon hours making a template in layers, and on top of that warned you that the template would not expand and you told me to continue. I would appreciate it if you would remove this thread please and I will refund your payment. In the end im actually the one who gets ripped off since I spent tons of time coding you template, and get nothing out of it. Refund is on its way

All refunds have been processed. Now also putting volonetworks.com in this is wrong. This has nothing to do with my hosting company. Now lets forget this because its obvious we do not agree, but I did follow through and code the template for you and in time, but just wasnt up to your "standards" and now im the bad guy. Yeah ok Scott. Remove the thread.

I am a friend and colleague of Matt's. He is a good person and is not looking to rip you off. I read the convorsation and it seems as if he had told you because i know that he has a broad knowledge of coding and am 100% sure that he would ask how you wanted it coded.. who wouldnt? nevertheless, please remove this thread. you were refunded.....

microdudde you are wrong, I did code the template for scott in his stupid layers, which wouldnt expand and i warned scott of this issue, and he had me continue anywase. Now also when we had our conversation I was late for dinner with my ladie and had to run and didnt feel i should refund him due to the fact I did code a template and spent a decent amount of time on it. But after returning home I changed my mind, also im not covering anything up, there is just no need for this thread, I held up my end.

yes, i understand this and i am very mature please do not go into that. I just do not like coding in layers but i didnt anywase...now I have respect as well my friend my company is becoming very well known and there is just no need for this thread since I did refund scotts money after i returned home, even though I lost all my time, I just want to drop it and stop talking about it. Its just a big waste of time.

I'm sorry you wasted your time, but you shouldn't have accepted the project if you couldn't complete it to a satisfactory standard. I posted here since it was the only way I felt I could receive a refund w/o calling the credit card company and doing a charge back to PayPal.

You didn't warn me that the layers wouldn't expand - as I said before, if I had known this I would have told you to stop right then. Trying to turn this on me when you did a poor coding job is dumb considering you offered me a 30 day money back guarantee. I brought volonetworks.com into this since the e-mail came from an @volonetworks.com address and ended w/:

Thank you for the refund. I'll close this thread.
Scott.
