Dear members,

I have a few 5 letter .com domain names which I have for sale on Sedo and Godaddy. I think is pretty good.

I have tried to have them approved for Brandbucket.com. Unfortunately their linguïstic therapists don't think it would be something for their clients.

How are you successful in selling your domain names?
  • Are you holding on to them and waiting for the right buyer to come by and contact you?
  • Do you contact owners of domain names in the same niche?
  • With what online marketplace do have the most success?

I hope you can help me out on this one..

Kind regards, Jan:?

In my experience BrandBucket is the best place for selling Brandable Domain names..You can try another Marketplaces like namerific, yourbrand etc, having said that holding a Domain name with a MakeOffer might be a good idea because an enduser with Deep Pocket can buy a Domain name for big price, remember FOLIA.com sold for 37500 USD, i am sure if the owner submit it to brandbucket they will suggest a price between 3K to 5K so it all depends on how we market the Domain name .. sorry for my bad English....:)

except cuteblonde all are craps. just learn the abc of domauns.

Yes..ok..there aren't amazing names there but there is no need to be rude and unkind. You are not forced to comment so if you take the time to appraise or give your opinion you could use that same time typing nicer words and more helpful advice.

As for your names unfortunately I don't see anything really valuable. If I can share a couple of suggestions I would avoid other extensions that are not .coms unless you are buying a top premium name.

You have some " adult " names. Well that's a very specific industry and very hard to get into but you could try to list them on HuntingMoon.

I would take the advice to read more..just go through the threads, filter the immeasurable and countless piles of crap and absorb the info you need.

If I were you I would try to develop DontDropThem into a sort of " successful story " website. Something were all the things/businesses/names/ideas that weren't given a dime to turned into something great! A positive website!!!

Good Luck

CuteBlonds should be CuteBlondes, otherwise that would've been a decent name. But I'd have to agree that what you've got has no value.

Just because something is 5 or 6 letters and it can be pronounced, doesn't mean it's a Brandable domain

Example: No value -> Fokok, Rozip, Azkob

Yes, they're short and can be pronounced, but that's about it

Quick Tip: A good brandable 5L, 6L brandable should end in a vowel, you'll notice the flow a little better. Here are some of mine:

Drenia, Treqo, Swizoo

Now again, look at yours: Dafoz, Abbits, Cizet. -- Get the idea.

New 'domainers' should stop thinking up names while they're still learning and check out https://www.namepros.com/available-domain-names

Stick to registering names posted by people that been around awhile and have an idea of what's good. Bannen, Untaken.co, Blake, etc.

Before you register a name;

Ask yourself "Who could I sell this to now?"
Not... "Who could possibly come to me one day and make me an offer on this"

Even people with amazing names rarely get offers, even 5 dollar offers. You must list your domain everywhere you possibly can, you never know who will find what an amazing name, if you need proof review the recent domain sales and tell me what % of those you felt are worthless.

When I say list everywhere I mean that, not just on sites that are for domain sales but any site that allows you to list items for sale and listing a domain doesn't violate their rules.

Set a buy now price for everything, even if its a high price, and tell the viewer offers accepted.

Sell the name, this is really the only industry that tries to sell stuff with 0 sales pitch. Almost all domains for sales look like this

blahblahblah.com $500 or Make Offer

Most good domain sales come from end users, now another domainer. Pitch the name, tell them why its a good name, tell them about how other names close to yours sold for more money etc, use every tool out there to picth the sale.

Ever see how real estate brokers pitch a house? They make a big deal of every small feature, they tell you how about comps of recent sales, etc.

If you wanna sell you must put in work, buying up names, parking it, and then waiting works for maybe 0.0000001% of domain owners, its the exception not the rule.

I confirm, these names are not good and won't sell.
You need to learn the basics first, when you have good domains the end users will come to you.

Wow! A lot of response to my post.

Thanks a lot people. I will start to pitch where I can.
First: the adult .info name has a .net almost similar with a 26k Alexa rank. This domain also has a PR3 ranking. For as long as it lasts..

Thanks again for the info. I'll see you around!

Welcome to NP

I agree with sdsinc, these are not the strongest names and you will struggle to sell them, I would read this forum a lot more before regging any more names

When regging a domain that is available, always ask yourself "with all the domainers and businesses in the world today, why is this name still available to register?"

Good luck in the future
