Does anyone know what i would need to do on a site to enable users to instantaneously update their profiles. Would that be .asp or .net? Please Help

.net is asp i do belive( its called asp.net << language name)

you would need a sss (server side script) to talk to a database (php or asp and then mysql or mssql then you need to create it

Those/These types of sites are implemented using (as adam_uk mentioned) server-side scripting. ASP, .NET (ASP.NET, C#.NET, VB.NET), JSP, PHP, Perl, and Python are the most common, and they generally interface with a database of somesort: MySQL, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, mSQL, Oracle ...
