Just wondering if Bodis is closed for new business?

I applied for account almost 2 weeks ago and no response from Bodis.
I know few others with very high quality traffic and lots of domains have experienced same issue.

I even sent a PM which was never answered.

Can someone clarify if:

1. Bodis just don't respond to emails/PMs?, or
2. Bodis is closed to new business?, or
3. something else is going on that we don't know of (such as upgrades to system, etc)?

Please advise.

Thanks.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
1) Matt just got back from the Traffic conference. He said in another post he is now dedicating time to Bodis.
2) Bodis reviews applications before allowing someone to park with them.
3) They are currently upgrading and tweaking the system. Remember: Bodis.com is STILL IN BETA! It's not officially open yet.

Thanks Fka200.

Hopefully, everything is alright with Bodis, and its just that they need to be a bit more proactive I guess.

Also Bodis isnt taking everyone anymore. Just people with quality domains with good traffic. And dont ask me what good traffic is. Will probally be extremly dificult to get in now.

comicbookguy,

I keep up with posts about bodis. I cannot remember ever reading bodis is not accepting new members. A post was made that those who had higher quality traffic would receive higher ppc.

Can you show the post that states what you say?

It is common to hear of some who have been waiting for a couple or more weeks as management is very busy launching bodis. So I would say hang in there.

Well as far as traffic quality is concerned, I must say our portfolio is among the few best ones. We have parked at DomainSponsor for years and still at DomainSponsor. RPM for the portfolio is over $300 generally. No typos etc....just generics and geo targeted domains.

After reading lots of posts about Bodis, I just submitted account application to try it out...........thats all...........not getting accepted in to Bodis is not the end of the world :hehe:

We will just wait and see what happens.

I wish Bodis the best, and I am happy that a domainer has done great thing for other domainers.....kudos to Matt!!!

But not responding to potential customers is a bad way to do business :imho:

Let me clarify what I have seen posted, I didnt say Bodius wasnt accepting new members They are accepting new members BUT Matt said only Good quality traffic domains. and they started to remove customers with non quality traffic or bad traffic. So unless you have quality traffic Matt said he will not accept them. Its in the 100+ page thread somewhere . people with non quality traffic have been getting bounced from the program. And dont ask me what quality traffic is , its a mystery to me and alot of others.

EDIT:

Ok here is the exact quote from Matt in the other thread. It is post 2356 (Page 95) copied and pasted.

If you have been using Adwords or some other method of gaining revenue, you will be banned with withheld revenue.

If you have domains that have bad traffic and bad domains, you will be banned but revenue will still be dispersed.

If you have good traffic domains, you will stay.

And from now on only high quality portfolio applicants will be accepted into the parking program.

I had exactly the same experience as the original poster - wanted to give Bodis a try so I submitted an application several weeks ago. Never received any response at all.

Most of my portfolio is parked on the Fabulous premium program and has met with their standards for acceptance - I don't have a huge VOLUME of traffic, but I have legitimate traffic (almost entirely North American - generic and geotargeted commercial names) with an overall good EPC, and wanted to try Bodis for some domains that don't convert well on a Google feed.

If I were rejected due to traffic volume, so be it, but a note telling me that and stating a reason would be much more professional than just tossing my application into /dev/null.

thks, comic book guy. I missed that Imo,

I can fully understand those who have applied and not been contacted.

Lets examine the statement. If a person is trying to expose .bodis to trouble by way of breaking the terms of agreement by using adwords or directing traffic to a bodis site, then they are not getting paid.

If a person is banned, for low quality domains, It just means they are in a learning curve as to what names to allow in. Since some have lots of names that are not converting, then they are closing those accounts. Some have mentioned that it is not fair to ban the whole portfolio as maybe only one or a few names are poor quality. Bodis has responded that they will relook at those banned and if they are only carrying a couple or few then they may be reinstated.

Imo the long time to get a response is due to two things, Matt was busy attending traffic, much work takes a higher priority or they are just starting to do previews.

I think customer service is paramount for a start up. So not getting back to emails or letting those who sign up know what is going on is not a plus imo.

We are not accepting applications, it is true. It may take quite a bit until we get everything current in order. Could take a while.

We are not accepting applications, it is true.

May I suggest a note stating that on your sign-up page?

that would be a good idea.

I've parked some of my domains with bodis.com, and I have to say, i'm impressed so far.

i do have some domains with low traffic at bodis.com, and i hope they will not delete them

This message, especially the last two sentences, seems incredibly important to the customer (in not such a positive way), yet contains no information or specifics at all.

Could you please take a few minutes to explain what you mean? In what ways and for how long will the customers be affected?

Thanks.

yeah (i don't wanna sound like a girl) but i think there should be more communication.

i understand Matt was at TRAFFIC, but for the past few weeks there's been many unanswered support tickets and PM's (my own, and from what I hear from others). Also, if new members aren't being accepted, a formal notice should be made on the website... but overall, I gotta give Matt props, he's done a great job!

Its funny though they are advertising in Modern Domainer magazine so its probably more like they don't want to accept any more people for 100% revenue share. That to bad because when they were just starting out thats what they promised until 2008 and they certainly didn't talk about min quality then .....That ok I missed the boat but Imodo is coming this week and im psyched about that.
