Rolling FIRESALE Auction: High OVT/Google LLL.mobis + Dictionary Terms from $ 19, NR!

Facing a cash-flow shortage, starting a fire-sale round today. There are no-reserves of course, and the super-low starting prices are not typos.

Each auction ends 48 hours after the last bid (as illustrated in the example described in the standard NP auction rules) unless a BIN price is accepted earlier of course.

Individual starting prices are shown above each group of domains, and the rest of the rules are stated at the end of this post.

The minimum bid increment is $5.

Before a bid is posted below, any name can be removed from the auction. This is an exclusive NamePros auction, but I will only give priority of individual bids over portfolio offers if the individual bid is posted below for all to see (as opposed to a PM-ed bid which can always be withdrawn with much less embarrassment).

All of the listings below are registered for two years (at least till September 2008) at ResellerClub; subsequent tranches at GoDaddy and Moniker (free push transfers available internally at all three registrars).

The preferred form of payment is Paypal, but NNN.mobi names may also be acceptable as barter payment if prompt agreement can be reached on ascribed value.

Credit cards, wire trannsfers, checks, bankers drafts and all other mainstream payment methods are acceptable to the extent that they are acceptable to a mutually agreed escrow service.

There are no limitations in terms of minimum price for using an escrow service - the buyer is free to use one as long as the seller is not required to share costs. Escrow.com, afternic.com and sedo.com are acceptable to the seller, as well as potentially other reputable providers.

Finally, a reminder of the two main reasons why it makes sense to bid now rather than later:

a) if the domain has received no bids it may not be here at all when you come back – as stated above no bids means no-notice disposal possible at any time; and

b) any of your bids that I find attractive will get an exclusive BIN in response – a publicly stated asking price that only you can hit, and thus win the auction immediately. :tu:

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Please feel free to scan the posts below for new additions - usually highlighted in blue.

NB : new additions are not physically added to the original list above, but are covered by the same terms and conditions.

Thank you for looking!

Just to clarify,

Is the $490 price point for LLL.mobi's a BIN or min bid?

Thank you for your interest guys, both in terms of questions (all the answers to which are in the fifth paragraph of the original post) and - especially so - in terms of bids :)

I feel quite relieved that I've found a place now where decent domains get noticed quickly - we're running at about 2 hours per bid so far - and that's with just a tiny fraction of the domains I'm planning to list on NP.

Quick question: Would you want to see many more domains for auction in this post, or do you think it would become too difficult to check what the current bids are if we get to say 10-15 minutes per bid with lots more domains in one post?

The fact that CEOs.mobi wasn't among the first ones to get a bid suggests that some development ideas may not be as readily apparent at first glance as I thought.

How about a listing of the office phone numbers (direct lines, switchboard and/or cell phone where appropriate) of the CEOs of all companies in the known universe (as an aspiration of course)?:hehe:

You can do that in many different ways - for instance starting with a free database of Big Business' public domain info (which would cover say 20% of the data volume but 80% of all searches for similar info on the internet), and then - once you get a good idea of the steepness of the usage curve - just get the best among the numerous providers of directory listings (Microsoft just bought one, but there are plenty left) to compete for the privilege of licensing their content on CEOs.mobi :bingo:

Marketing should be relatively easy, especially if you explore the less obvious angles - like letting users market it for you instead - telling their friends about this great new service that lets you yell at a CEO:yell: (or at least their secretary) in seconds - rather than at a hapless Customer Support person and begging to be put through to a supervisor :'( ...

duceman, I'm pretty sure I responded to all questions in my post at 11.15 this morning. Could it be you missed the first paragraph there? I skim read all the time myself, maybe I should start sticking to one thought per paragraph :)

It was a bit unclear, and it seems most people are still wondering, are you asking for $490 per.mobi LLL?

sirengirl, sincere thanks for alerting me to the perceived need for clarification.

The reason why I keep referring to the fifth paragraph of the original post (and don't want to change that post as the time stamp clearly shows it hasn't been edited since before the question was asked) is that I don't want people to suspect I may have changed the rules or been sloppy, or both.

For ease of reference, here is the relevant part of that paragraph with added emphasis:

"Individual starting prices are shown above each group of domains"

Also for ease of reference, here is the entire text above the LLL.mobi group of domains:

"LLL .mobi gems acquired when many thousands were still unregistered: $490"

Thus - for the ultimate avoidance of doubt - the starting price for each individual LLL.mobi domain here is $490.

Sorry if this hasn't been clear enough - even though there are no other prices mentioned in relation to the LLL group, and it says everywhere that this an auction :)

If this staring price appears too high even after checking Overture and Google, I would be happy to explain my reasoning.

Many thanks again!
