I am in love with Namecheap.

I have hundreds of domains at GoDaddy and am slowly transferring them over to Namecheap.

Namecheap is faster, easier to checkout at, and they run cool contests, like the one that got me hooked last Christmas during their Twitter contest.

My domains from last Christmas are up for renewal, which is why I took a closer look at them.

No, I'm not a paid endorser. I'm just a domainer who has fallen in love with someone new. Sorry, GoDaddy. I'm filing for divorce.

Discount code on transfers to Namecheap: SWITCH2NC

Enjoy! :tu:

I've been thinking to move all my domains from godaddy also with same reason.
I need faster and easy checkout and also best coupon, but I'm not sure with name cheap, I think namecheap is not cheap enough..

NC = Fast & easy interface, decent pricing, and great customer service

In the few times I've needed their assistance in resolving issues, they've been very helpful. The vast majority (+95%) of my domains are at NameCheap and I couldn't be happier!

.COM transfers are $9.69/yr. and SWITCH2NC makes it $6.99.

Namecheap costs more. I'm not going to pay an extra few thousand a year for a better interface.

Namecheap costs more.

Indeed. Despite the word "cheap" in their name, Namecheap's price for renewals still cannot beat GoDaddy's (with coupon code).

But, Godaddy's interface is not so good...

i think most of us would move our GD domains out there for any reason. If we dont do is becouse of prices and discounts codes. Namecheap is just another option, better service but higher prices, and price rules in domaining world. Personally, i prefer name.com.

NameCheap isn't that cheap anymore.

I have my domains spread at 6 registrars and won't transfer them to a single one just to have them in one place. Better to keep your eggs in more than one basket.

disclaimer: my preferred registrar is name.com :P

I like NameCheap but Go Daddy has cheaper prices with coupon codes and if you need support you can call 24/7 and get someone, plus my personal account rep sweetens the deal even more, if price wasn't an issue I like Fabulous.

Namecheap is not cheap. They dont give renewal coupons. Only for big domainer.

I like Godaddy's pricing...but Namecheap's interface and ease-of-use are tough to beat. Plus, with every new registration you get a free whois guard.
It's hard to keep a large number or domains at Namecheap because of the higher pricing.
Good luck with the move :)

Definitely agree with you there!

GoDaddy has always been my go-to registrar when I needed to reg a new domain. I still have hundreds of domains at GoDaddy, so I'll be there for a long while.

Why do so many complain about GoDaddy's checkout? Do you guys have severe ADD or something? We're talking only about an extra 10 seconds clicking through the upsells.

Sometimes I Prefer Name.com which have a free privacy. ;)

i think the extra few seconds at godaddy is handy , more than once i have deleted a name just before i regged it

nmaecheap is cheap for transfers :p so next time instead of renewing in namecheap better to transfer to some other :D

I guess I am in the minority of domainers, but I have no major problem with GD.

Even I prefer name.com. Everytime saves a dollar.

The only problem I've ever had with GoDaddy is their lack of effort to counter domain scamming tactics. Other than that they havn't done me wrong. I will check out NameCheap though, thanks for the suggestion.

I was in love with NameCheap until Google Checkout rejected my VALID fully working credit card to pay for a $10 renewal, then Namecheap locked me out of my account and served me with a $30 fine because according to them I had "affected their credit rating".

Whatever, end result was that I made a thread at Webhostingtalk about them and a NameCheap reprensetative there forfeit the charges on a technicality, as the credit card had been accepted then rejected in 5 seconds. Otherwise he was addamant the charges/fine should stay.

Result, I moved all my domain names out of NameCheap.

Check their terms and conditions, if Google Checkout rejects your credit card they can fine you up to $100, which to me is a load of rubbish because if the CREDIT CARD IS VALID and THEY reject it OUT OF THEIR OWN FREE WILL then I dont see why I should pay a damn fine. I am not taking any risks.

My 2 cents

I'm with you Brad. I've only been fined once for a whois complaint (which wasn't justified). I got the money back from the complainant when I sold him the domain. Well within any hold budget. Domains x Years = 15,000-20,000 (domain years). Also the best Control Panel out there, imho.

Also. Renewal at GoDaddy circa $7. At NameCheap $9.69. You do the math. I have nothing against NameCheap. I like them but I can get renewals at Name.com for $7.50.

I know the girl that created and ran that contest

i've liked namecheap for years, however their prices are not really that competitive. make sure you at least contact them to get a bulk buyer discount code. if you have so many domains they offer it. otherwise $9.69 for .com is a little ridiculous
