1and1.com is the worst company EVER! In addition to the thread here at NP, google hate 1and1 or 1and1 sucks, etc. and you'll find an ever growing underground culture of people like the guy who started www.bankraid.com.

i'm curious ...

I wouldnt get a single domain wihtt hem even if they paid me to register it. They are the WORST EVER!!

That still doesnt explain why does it... before the next angry person comes along and says the same thing again... tell us WHY

I regged 5 domains for free. No problem.

Also, it's not as if I plan to develop them or anything like that. I can transfer to my godaddy account if there's a problem.

But...I got 5 free domains. That's the bottom line for me.

Any other bad/good experiences with 1and1? Let's hear about it.

Yes, stay away from 1&1. They lure you in with their "too good to be true deals" then give you hell... Just a word from a person who is a prospective buyer... I never, ever will consider purchasing a domain that is regged at 1and1. It is far too much trouble to deal with that registrar. The only registrars I've found that are just about as bad as 1and1 are Yahoo, Safenames, and Aplus.net.

'Offer applies to one year’s registration of ordered .info domains. After one year, customer will be billed at standard 1&1 domain rate.'

They WILL bill you at the end of the year. They will NOT give you an authorisation code to transfer to GD. You WILL have great trouble cancelling your account.

Oh the pain! I'm still traumatised after trying to transfer a domain but i gave up after about 3 WEEKS. 5 free .info is a crafty way to lure new people as most people have ditched them already...myself included. Dont touch them with a barge poll!

Its Virtually IMPOSSIBLE to transfer away from them or cancel your account. If anyone wants my 5 decent names at 1and1 they can have them for free as long as they take over the account.. Seriously they are that bad
