Why doesn't Google go into Hosting?

With how much webspace Google's pouring into Gmail (which I doubt many ppl will be able to use up)...why don't they look into free hosting?

Most of the people will not use their space in full, so in reality they do not need to keep all the space (but of course they are able to). But they are still able to check your e-mails, analize them and send some spam related to your "private messages"

Hosting means real space, real transfer (data sent to and from server) to pay for and much less information to filter and use on commercial purposes.

If Google offered paid webhosting, they would doubtless gain a lot customers. The problem for them is this:

If they offered paid hosting, how much would they lose in Hosting advertisers going elsewhere/?

Ok, time to check Yahoo out, they seem to be able to manage a lot more.

Google have more than enough resources to do ANYTHING they want, they just don't want to.

Google is plain and simple, like the way they want it.

Yahoo's another. Their potentials and goals are different to Google's. They don't plan on beat them, just to keep their current status.

Google's just a bit tied up right now. Besides, they don't want to KILL the E-Commerce economy. There are THOUSANDS of web hosts out there and if they opened up free hosting, it would absolutely desert the market, and thousands of people would lose money.

If I was Larry Page, I'd just keep doing what we are right now and focus on revolutionizing the world first.

i dont know much about google but google is not a chariry or non profit organization, so companies or international enterprises just looking money
by the way i am waitting for so long that google give free hosting services
google pack A: 100gb disk space
100gb bandwith
cpanles XII
100 email account
100 ftp accounts

i am giving and idea google, so ..............

I agree - They Don't offer domains for the same reason I believe - Even though they are accredited

That would IMO crash the hosting industries, if they offer reasonable prices an real 24/7 support (I mean REALLY real, like you'd see Dell have) that HELPS -- other companies would go down. However, anything can happen -- it could be just as crappy as yahoo domains. All depends on their performance :gl:
