w3c disagrees.

I agree with what w3c says in principal, that using a table tags for anything other than a data table is not conforming to html. However using tables wll not harm the design of your page.

No it won't hurt your design as such but as I said some tables can have extremely complex code and therefore reduce loading times. Especially for narrowband users. Also like I said it isnt very flexible, there's not much you can do with a table once it's there even with css. Whereas css and divs are incredibly flexible.

well, its a problem that the fóking browser do'nt accept the #ffffff color i gave to the main layout . that simple.

see:

#outer {
text-align: left;
background-color:#ffffff;
width: 700px;
margin: auto;
}

what's wrong?

Do you actually have any content in your outer div? other than that I can't see a problem with the code. For example:

<div id="outer">
<p>Hello world</p>
</div>

nothing. main layout with divs inside.

I know this is a dumb question but is the rest of your pages background white?

If not then you can send your code to me if you like and i'll see if anything else is wrong.

no, all's the same background. I create a template, and all pages are from that template. The formating is on a css file. save the page, the css comes with it.

That orange picture? wow, you're a really good photographer :snaphappy:

What camera do you use? I've got a 6.6mp digital cam and it takes pretty high quality stuff.

hey nope, not the last version, the one before, the header changes in every page, that's all my photos, and not digital, by a canon eos 300v, fuji superia film.

We got a old digital machine, a canon S10 with 2.1mp, bought in 99 in the states. It is not very good, and i prefer taking with no digital camera.

take a look:
