OFFICIAL FABULOUS.com Thread

I was wondering how long people have waited for decisions from Fabulous.com? I recently applied for the first time.

That aside, I'd like to hear some recent opinions on their service. All input is greatly appreciated. :)

Hi fatter,

We are still in the process of testing our own portfolio to determine the performance of NameJet and whether it is something we can roll out to third parties.

One other thing we take into consideration is demand from our customer base. The greater the demand, the more likely we are to implement. If you are interested in participating in this program please drop your Account Rep an email.

Cheers,

Mike

Ahhh.. just like the good old day's of gaming names. I have a couple of names that get $9.40 clicks :D

They are in the "loss mitigation" field which will become a massive industry in the next 2 years if the bail out goes through

Hi PokerPie,

Fabulous records impressions as the total number of views/hits your domains receive; basically, any activity a domain receives, including spiders/bots.

Whereas, uniques are the number of impressions/views your domain receives from "unique" users visiting the domain through a conventional browser; a unique is a user that has not visited that domain in the last sixty minutes.

In regards to your domains that are receiving volumes of impressions, yet no uniques, this is most likely spider/bot activity. However, Fabulous only records "known" spiders. For example, google, yahoo, msn, etc.

Let me know if there are any other questions.

Cheers,

Mike

Same, I hope they don't have some mistake because it is my best day ever for revenue so far. I have one unique, lots of clicks and a LOT of impressions (though I always have that, bots and spiders love my domains...)

Weird.

Hi all,

Just letting you know that overnight we experienced a problem with recording statistics, in which uniques have not been tracking correctly. Our technical support have since resolved these issues and uniques will continue to record correctly. Unfortunately we are unable to retrieve this data. However, please note revenue has not been affected by this problem.

We apologize for any inconveniences caused. If you have any questions or concerns please don't hesitate in contacting your Account Rep or [email protected]

Cheers,

Mike

wow talk about a dirty site, very disappointing I have sent numerous emails trying to get some of the domains I have bought for parking revenue to the right Nameservers. Apparently i got a question wrong and my account has been locked for several days, 5 domains making money every day and there ns servers cant be changed. of course the nameservers are pointed at Fab. and they keep responding saying there is nothing wrong.. ha ha you would think they would know.. nothing quite like not being able to transfer a domain or change anything about it.. very unprofessional! and im really sick to my stomach on the email replies i get telling me everything is ok :(

Hi Mike,

I have a question about keyword optimizing. I've had about 1500 unique visitors to one of my domains, OJTO dot net, in the past 6 months. In the same period there have been 237 clicks. These are the top Keyterms listed, with the number of clicks:

Keyterm Clicks
hand car wash equipment 19
oj to 15
agw auto salvage auctions 9
usate audi 6
car rental spain 6
car bill of sale form 5
blaupunkt dvd 5
dubai used cars 5

Are these keyterms the phrases that visitors (who clicked through) searched to get to OJTO.net? It perplexes me because I don't understand how, for example, a google search for "hand car wash equipment" is going to bring someone to OJTO dot net. Can you explain this?

In this case, would you recommend setting "hand car wash equipment" as the keyterm for this domain?

Thanks,
Ken

Hi Ken,

I'm presuming you got these Keywords from the Domain Analytics report?

If so, the keywords that are displayed in this report are the actual phrase(s) that advertisers are listing on that have been clicked and resulted in revenue to you.

For example, this domain has had 19 clicks on advertisers listing on the term "hand car wash equipment."

This report will only record keywords that have generated revenue for your domain(s).

I hope this clarifies things.

If you have any other questions, please let me know.

Cheers,

Mike

Yes. I followed your instructions from an older post.

Okay, so if I follow you, "the actual phrase(s) that advertisers are listing on" are not necessarily related to what visitors were searching for?

An analogy: You're at the mall looking for a shoe store. But walking by a book store a new title in the window catches your eye. You may step into the store to check it out (the equivalent of a click). But it isn't what you came looking for.

If that's a correct analogy then what I don't understand is why the vast majority of clicks are car related. The current landing page is a portal page with diverse generic ad links. I don't even see anything there that would pertain to "car wash equipment", etc.

Also, there are 15 clicks for "oj to". I've searched around and can't figure out why an advertiser would list on this. It doesn't mean or refer to anything, as far as I can tell.

Hi Ken,

Looking at the lander for your domain, it's a 2-click generic, with a search box. So the visitors would be searching for those terms/phrases (using the search box) and THEN clicking on an advertiser link.

In saying this, the phrases will only show up in the report IF a user clicks on an advertiser link.

If they search for a term/phrase, but don't click on a link, then that keyword will not be reported.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Cheers,

Mike

Thanks, Mike.

Just to be clear, you're saying that these keyterm phrases are the phrases that visitors (who subsequently clicked on an ad link) actually typed into the search box on the landing page? If so, while it may not be completely representative of what my visitors are seeking, these are predominantly auto-related keyterms. As I have no idea what else they are searching for would it not make sense to optimize around these keyterms?
