I have quite a bit of TV's to renew and I know a bunch of my friends here do too. Well, Goldrush Anniversary is exactly one month from now and we have a LOT of names to move.

Many Registrar Variables to consider here...

1) Security

2) Price

3) Customer Service

4) Control Panel ease (Transfers/Pushes, etc.)

5) Privacy - I guesss this could go under price since some places it is free and others charge.

6) Same Country as we live in???

Ok, here are some of the things I have thought long and hard about.

Please Help me think this through because I have changed my mind a dozen times already. OI am sure this thread will be VERY helpful to others here who are also starting to think this through since a LOT of domains here have exactly one month before Renewal (Mar. 18th)

I was very close to moving all of my domains to DomainMonster. They have the best renewal pricing by far. If you are transferring 25+ TV's then it comes out to $20.49 each!
BUT
I just heard talk that they have been down for quite a while so now I am going back to square 1.

GoDaddy - Great Control Panel and decent AfterMarket (TDNam) but you can enter any TV from any registrar there already (which is VERY smart) but high priced renewals.

Name - Great all around but high priced.

Dynadot - Great EZ Control Panel, GREAT MarketPlace, Awesome grace delete poliy.

Enom - Cheapest for Premium TV's but highest for renewal.

I was thinking about Moniker because of SnapNames eligibility, and it seems VERY safe but then I was just reading Microguy's thread on how they lock your names in, etc.

I have a few other thoughts but I really do not want to influence anyone here because I, myself have not come to my own conclusion as of yet.

If you have come to your own conclusion already, please share it and why...No answer is wrong.

Your thoughts...

Thanks,
Vito

I have got few .tv renewals coming up at Name.com, they had sent mail stating that $35 is the renewal.
Any promo codes available there ?

Whether Moving to godaddy is the best option ?

I have one premium domain regd last april at name.com to be renewed now, can I transfer premium name also to another registrar ? My premium name is normal renewal as usual now.

Does anyone know the deal w/Enom?

First off I sign in to Enom.com and it transfers me to EnomCentral and I have to re-sign in there too. Then when I hit renewal they wanna charge me $49.99 each.

Now I could have sworn I heard someoone/somewhere say that they paid like $29 ish at Enom...

and what is the differene with Enom.com/EnomCentral AND Enom.tv?

Could we transfer from Enom.com/EnomCentral TO Enom.tv and have a cheaper rate???

I have always been a bit confused about there being 3 different Enoms.

Thx in advance,
V

Vito you can 'push' the names from enomcentral to enom.tv and its $29 renewal there. Just gotta plug in the enom.tv username on the enomcentral screen as usual.tj

I never had a Enom.tv account... but I do have an Enom.com account (or shall I say an EnomCentral.com account) whatever.

So, I thought what you were saying was just enter my Username and password into the Enom.tv account and it would be an easy transfer w/a fee of only $29... I go to Enom.tv and enter my Enom.com UserName and password and it does not accept them there so I guess I need to create an enom.tv account???

Basically, I just want to get my Premiums out of Enom because of that $49.99 fee, and if these can be moved to another Enom account for $20 less per name, then I'm in.

You have to create new account at enom.tv. You can have your domains at enomcentral or enom.tv. AFAIK, you can move your premiums between enom/enomcentral/enom.tv (just try with domain push).

Small sidenote - enomcentral has very high renewal fees, about $30 for .com, so dont forget to transfer out on time.

haha,

No Problem TJ.
Its the thought that counts!

I have one enom non premium that I've been trying to start transfer out of Enom since Monday still nothing...Auth code isnt working, etc.

Transferring out of enom sure is a Pain in the A$$!

Hmm, I wonder if they do that on purpose...

I never had problems with transfers out from enom. How do you know auth code is not working? Have you read enom faqs? When you start transfer out from enom, transfer will happen exactly 5 days after transfer start. In that period, you will not get any notification via email or confirmation request.

If you wish to skip that 5 day period, just email support [AT] enom.com and ask them to authorize transfer manually. I usually get transfer out 4 or 5 hours after I sent email. Very good and friendly support, at least from my experience. Good luck with your domain %%-

INTERNAL ACCOUNT PUSH!!!!!!

It's not a Transfer. Enom shares the same master database so just push to your Enom.TV account. Somewhere there's a change account option.

Do not try a TRANSFER.. it will NOT WORK...(on a Premium) though they give you an auth code ?!?

He is talking about non premium transfer out. About his premium, he was already told to use push instead of transfer. :)

I love Dynadot /GoDaddy let you approve the transfer - means the whole process is less than 20 minutes. Name.com you have ask them to approve the transfer for you or wait 5 days!

Oh yeah. Sorry for not following the conversation!

It would be a crap load easier if everyone just charged the same. Domainers waste so much time playing merry go round with names. I would sell you this domain for $100 but I wasted 4 hours getting it moved to this registrar so I need to charge you $300 unless you want me to transfer out of ENOM in which case I will charge you $500 and a pizza.

Ok, I just made push from enomcentral to enom.tv. Here is quick guide:

If you have some .TVs for renewal with enomcentral, and you cant or wont transfer them away, here is the way to avoid $50 renewal fee.

- create account at enom.tv if you dont have one
- login to your enomcentral account
- choose a domain you wish to renew
- go to General Setings -> Push domain to another user
- push domain to account name you created at enom.tv
- login to enom.tv and renew domain for $29
