If anyone can take Google on, its MS (at least financially, Apple could with its innovation).
I do NOT like MS in general and I dont like their policies.
I use to love google, but true... they have become a monster.
I think its great that 2 monsters are battling it out, and it would be even greater if eventually their power is distributed in 1/2 and we see some good competition.
As for the name bing.com, If we dont think as domainers, its actually a fantastic name.
How has Google become a monster? The company has become the largest, most independent, and most resourceful and innovative companies to spring up within the new millennium.
Google continues to improve and offer free interesting services that help not only regular Internet users but webmasters as well. No other company - that has experienced such great financial and public success - has actually turned around and implemented more and more servers and features to help out their target market like Google has.
What other search engine has these tools and services?:
More Google Products
None.
Google was and will continue being the first of every innovation. It - to me - is the only company that does anything with its deep pockets to turn around and help accommodate their consumers needs and possible desires.
Look at its competition: Microsoft, Yahoo, Dell (AltaVista)...they're nothing. What else do they provide besides search? Google's really taken a different approach by understanding each and every visitor - through their array of free services and features - to constantly improve their web search. No other search engine has done a fraction of what Google has already done and continues to do on a daily basis.
Long live Google.
There is no Google killer, unless there is an open source collaboration project that will continuously make and support as many open source software, tools, and services that Google has to offer and will offer.

Edit: Just take a look at the link I provided and you'll see some of the amazing feats that Google has introduced to the new world.
GOOG-411, a FREE 411 service? This should have been created a long time ago, but low and behold, punish Google for taking an untaken opportunity to provide a free 411 service to its major target market - the US.
More than just web search, Google offers various other searches include image search, news search, US patent search, product search and so much more - why focus on the web when the web consists much more than just web pages? It really narrows down major services and such people are looking for when they search the web. People aren't just searching for content and web pages (hello Microsoft & Yahoo!).
Google Docs and Google Calender, amazing web-based 2.0 applications that really have introduced the term of cloud computing to the world. View and edit documents in any browser, as well as accessing, and saving - who would have thought of that? And now Google Docs is continuing to expand supporting creating/editing/saving PowerPoint presentations and more. No more hard drive failures (thanks to Gmail I presume with it's introduction of such large disk space, cloud computing turned into a reality).
Come on, what other search engines have anything on Google? The other search engines are just looking for the market. If they don't have anything unique, innovative, or resourceful to the customer like Google has done, they won't and can't take on such a glorious company as Google.
