Twitter can be much faster than email to solve problems. I twitted a problem with a company and got an almost immediate response and fix. An email to the same company might have been ignored.

However, this is typical of new techs - they are very friendly. Once Twitter becomes a household word, I wonder how effective it will be in this regard.

Twitter has a real time search engine that is free for anyone to use:

Many companies use will use Twitter Search to find related tweets.

I've actually just started using Twitter a bit more, in that whenever I post to my Posterous blog, it automatically updates my Twitter and has gotten me a few more followers..
