I just stumbled upon this site and have to say I have never seen a layout so nice before. (And no, I don't own it or know who does.) How much do you think that whole profile is worth? I would have to say at least 30 million.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Just looking at the domains listed on that webpage, a lot more than $30M.

Home.com
Medicine.com
Stocks.com
Design.com
Tourism.com
MD.com

They have some gems there.

Oh, I know 30 million was being very conservative, keyword "at least." I could see some of those names going for 10 million each.

Why don't they sell?

Well apparently doing some Google searching reveals wonders about them. They own much more than the names listed on that homepage:

Check this out:
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&...S:official&q="©2008+Anything.com"&btnG=Search

Also a small discussion on DNF where users joke that Bill Gates owns them:
http://www.DNF/f557/anything-com-thread-322357.html

Anything.com's laywer is Ari Goldberger and had to go to court on multiple occasions to deal with domain disputes.

On a more serious note, it largely remains a mystery who exactly is "Anything.com." Even on WIPO cases the Responded is merely referred to as Anything.com.

It is in ICANN policy to keep accurate WhoIs info and I don't think "Administration, Domain" as a registrant's name is going to cut it. People have had domains revoked because their WhoIs info contained false information and I don't think "Big Players" should be exempt.

Something tells me that we all already know who the owner is...

That portfolio is priceless, easily deep into the 9-figure range.

Registered to a person living in the Grand Caymans - contact goes to 10.com

Could it be Frank Schilling?

I don't think Frank was around long enough to acquire that many massive keywords. This puts Rick's portfolio to shame, and he was the first person to really get the direct navigation, generic domain concept. I imagine we'll never know who this guy is.

Kudos to this guy for his development efforts. He could teach Rick a thing or two about the difference between parking a domain and developing it.

"I imagine we'll never know who this guy is."

Why do these people like to remain anonymous?

No clue.

If we look at Namepros in example, Guest to Member ratio is about 8:1. Due to the competitive nature, I guess some people would prefer to keep a low profile. Hard to do some stuff (eg. lowball) if everyone knows you're a pro domainer. Some have "questionable/TM infringing domains" and might prefer to keep a low profile to not attract attention from corporate lawyers.

Why would they ? They make enormous free income from ads, etc. It'd be absolutely crazy to sell them

I absolutely guarantee those domains will be sold one day.
You can't take it to the grave with you.
And i'd think his aspirations would change as he got near retirement age..
Plus he ain't getting younger.

Domains, for most, are merely a means to an end, buddy
Nearly all the veteran domainers are looking to sell (maybe keep a few gems) at nearly every opportunity, in case noone has noticed.
Certainly, more so recently than compared to a 1-2 yrs ago.

With domains you can either have the income or the capital - not both at the same time - unlike cash or property (home equity loan)

If anyone thinks the status quo will remain for the next 20 yrs or so, think again.
Things move fast in technology.

As an aside, I bet CEOs Richard Fuld (Lehmans) and Jimmy Cayne (Bear Stearns) wished they had sold back then in the billions before the chit hit the fan.
Who'd of thunk their huge shareholdings would be virtually worthless?

Then again most people here have a limited understanding of finance eg. capital vs income, PE ratios, , plenty of opportunities in other asset classes etc.

ps. Burano has made some good points

He can pass them on to his kids and they will never have to work because of the parking income, which I'm sure makes the owner several million a year. You don't have to sell all your domains before you die...
