Giving Reece the trifecta ... I have agree almost word for word. You can easily be blinded by the emotion even when consciously aware of the phenomenon. I'm completely guilty of the habit. I tend to value my names a bit high because of it. But I tend to hold out for good prices.

I also notice this tends to happen, with me, with "brandables" rather than generics. ie: "Grafrica" with a few low $$$ offers I hold out for a MUCH higher sale. This is a name I fell in love with. I think it has something to do with ones vision of the names potential. And the hopes of getting around to or find funds to develop it. So the name gets shelved, perhaps subconsciously, via a high asking price.

Not so much my domains, but there were a few auctions where I really liked the domain... but had I won I feel I would have over payed. Was very tempted at times though.

Yeah that is something I watch for at times.. I have names that I have overvalued in the past.. I think I am much better now

I seem to come across some really good domains and register them and like having them for a little while. After that, I realise that the money is good to.

yes, all the time, all "nabaza" domains with different ext. i don't sell them.

totally, every domain i reg there is a reason, some of those reasons better then others
but yeah, like for ie, i have greek2.me i really like it, its short and while it might have been steep to pay $40 for the reg, i still tell myself its a great domain

I keep "dead weight" names, names that make nothing, but to me thats part of this game. I wont get rid of a name just because i havent done anything with it or nobody ever made an offer on it. I only get rid of a name if i think it no longer fits in with my plans anymore.

It's a love hate thing for me - I love my domains but I hate having to renew them!!

Seriously though, the very reason we register/buy domains is because we see the potential value of them. We think about them a lot and concentrate on their strengths. Trouble is, not everyone will feel the same way about every domain and, as we all know, domaining is very much a buyer's market these days. So we all seem to end up buying more and more domains but not letting them go because people don't want to pay as much as we think the domains are worth!

I have never "loved" a domain. I might love the money I make from it though.
