In light of recent events, I think it's time to start some hype :) Estibot sometimes appraises too high, sometimes too low. I think it's a fair tool to use for determining an average value for .com portfolios. It's .mobi values are oftentimes way off, hence the use of .com and then taking a fraction of that (say 1% or so) as a valuation.

Note: This is not meant to compare the two, merely to suggest that there's a lot of room to grow. I just went through my top 50 or so and it seems I'm worth >10mm should .mobi = .com...

This may just be a learning experience too! Some of the names I had forgotten I had regged ended up with extremely high Wordtrackers and values higher than my favorite names :)

How much are you "worth" under those circumstances?

Ok, I played along. The 20 names I now have would be worth $2,347,470.

If anybody wants to buy my portfolio right now, I will sell it at only 1% which is $23,474. Hurry before I change my mind.

Just give me tits.mobi and you can have every other name in my portfolio.

gaming.com
Valuation for domain name only : USD 320,000
Valuation considering traffic: USD 5,700,000

gaming.mobi
Valuation: USD 2,400

Needless to say, my .mobi is NOT for sale at the estibot price. :hehe:
That's the main problem with estibot. There are certain names that are inherently more valuable "just because", and it doesn't really take that into account. If someone bought gaming.com for 320,000, that would be a steal.

HMMMM, I wonder, did someone inspire this poll? :hehe:

Wow.... thanks a lot for testing! And the .mobi folks, too :) I was wondering why my server was feeling so clogged.

It seems that if the .us ext is not taken , then the name is worthless.....that`s a big laught.....you put a name there with overture of 1 million in your country and it says reg fee....whatever.

Actually, while it is true that .us availability (as other availablitities) is one factor, it is one of the smaller factors and is tied to many other factors so it shouldn't make that big of a difference. But I will test it and see whether it somehow affects the .mobi valuations more than I thought.

Well, I can say that it wasn't me. I was surprised to see this (although happy that I get .mobi feedback!). I only spontaneously talk about EstiBot in my thread in the advertising/for sale board. I feel that I am entitled to respond though if someone else wants to talk about it.

.mobi is hard to valuate. Market is not stable and there is not enough recent data for me - I cannot get reliable statistical results. And about gaming.com, yes it is true that some names have intrinsic value that is beyond the metrics, and that surely is a limitation of automated algorithms. But what it does say is that gaming.com is valuable, it just does not say how valuable exactly, and it is up to the user to make that final valuation.

Thanks anyway for testing, your comments help me in the development. I will adjust the .mobi valuations as I get more data and more analyses done.
Josh

EDIT: Forgot to mention - please try all lowercase first. EstiBot is more accurate when it gets to automatically determine the keywords. Only if you think the keyword determination is wrong, then try capitalization, and also with eDomains capitalization is needed: iDomain.com, eDomain.com.

Sorry about that inconvenience but I can't make the keyword detection perfect....

Here's a few I just checked...that was fun.

chocolatier $160,000
jumprope $190,000
exerciseball $150,000 (I regged this yesterday)
clementine $130,000

I guess if mobi is even half of .com it's all good  I'll be thinking twice before I sell anymore for $xx or $xxx.

Chocolatier is a great name (so are the others, but I'm a big chocolate fan :) )

I'm a big fan of Estibot (and not in any way affiliated with Esa for those wondering). As I've said time and time again... New domainers need a way to get a relatively accurate guage of the market. As the gaming.com example elucidates -- it need not be perfect, but if the new domainer was sitting on gaming.com (and we can tell from some Snap/Pool drops that some people have no clue how valuable their 10+ year old domain is), he'd be sure not to sell it for say, 10k or whatever lowball offer someone out there may offer him. It sure beats the heck out of Leapfish and looking at Leapfish's Alexa... Looks like alot of people need something better at appraisals :guilty:

As for foreign language names, my experience has lead me to believe that Estibot reports back English Overture results only, or at least a limited amount of foreign languages Overture results (based on foreign .mobis having earned their reg fee back in PPC being considered worth only reg fee). In the case of RUK.mobi, it does of course have a very special "adult" meaning in a foreign language, so 2k may not be far off the mark. I can't justify the value of my arv.mobi ($3600) unfortunately, however taking 1% of the .coms price ($26000) yields a very accurate result ($260), just off the $250 I paid for it.

All in all, I'm quite impressed with the accuracy of Estibot in regards to my purchase prices and feel that it's certainly worth looking at before selling a name, just to make sure you didn't miss something -- and to be able to accurately guage the potentially large opportunity cost of selling a .mobi now, rather than in the future.

You aren't doing so badly yourself with the names you have either :)

So long as it pays for golf and a few boxes of Titleist Pro V1's then I am content ;)

I'd be happy with 100k. Take a year off work and give domaining + developing full time a try :)

Well, I played around and had some fun wth estibot.

IF my mobi's were dot coms....estibot says I'd be right under 5Mil

Personally, I think 1% is quite low, but for giggles, 1% of 5 mil is quite a nice ROI, :imho:

Another fun note...while checking multiple times, you get prompted to input words to make sure you're human....had a laugh when the requested words were "Executive Dung" :o

Hee hee just checked 3 of mine and IF my mobi's were worth as much as com's i'd already be worth $2 million!!! So with all my domains i suppose i'm well well over $5 million! But mobi wise it probably severely reduces to something like $50!!

Cheers Estibot you p*** taking motherf**ker!!! LOL!!!
