Hi,

I'm looking for some advice on which logo you prefer. I designed them a while ago, and haven't used them yet.

Are either of them worth using?
If you answer yes to the above, which one do you prefer (left or right)?

Here they are:

Thanks!

PS: The company name is Barker & Smye Associates Ltd, but this logo was designed before the Associates was there (here its simply shortened to B&S Ltd).

Left. But the right one could look better if the gradient towards the black is more gradual.

Kinda funny but the logo looks like BS to me

Anyway, the one on the left looks better to me as well.

I like the left one myself.

I prefer left but if I was client I wouldn't like either.

Just out of curiosity, why not? I think the OP would appreciate it and I would be interested to hear you elaborate on that comment.

Yes I agree, left one is better than the right. But it can be enhanced by playing around with some more shades of gray. And it will look more professional if you remove the drop shadow effect from the box.

Ok, thanks for all your opinions. I designed these myself as an idea for my own company, not somebody else's. But I haven't really bothered to put effort into trying different logos as of yet - these two are the only ones I've done so far.

I say the right because the the squares are more flush with the edges. No border.

One big thing to watch out for is if you plan on printing these logos, putting them on business cards, shirt designs etc. The gradient is usually ALOT more expensive. I learned that the hard way.

Just fodd for thought. I do however like the logos for being grayscale. If i had to choose one I woudl for surely go with the right on without the white border. I would however consider changing fonts a little as the LTD and the B is hard to read and therefore would be harder to make brandable..

I like the left but I would take the shadow off the background, or make it have less blur

Left, but I'd change the font used for "LTD" to something easier to read. And too much gray on a corporate logo is a no-no (dull!).

The right one. It has a kind of 3D effect what I like.

Left one, however:

1. Add color
2. Change the font
3. Drop the shadow/glows

A logo needs to be able to stand free on any surface.
