The voting will take place for the last two months of 2021 the poll closes on December 31,2021.
You can make up to 3 choices. This way you will have plenty of time to think about your vote, you will have time to change your votes if you so desire.

Employees are prohibited from voting.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Dynadot , quick points.
  • affordable
  • easy, fast checkout
  • no upsale magic, sticker price shocks. . what you see is what you pay, what you pay is what you get.
  • free privacy
  • free one-page
  • easy, fast, clean interface
  • multi-year reg offers
  • quick Sedo MLS, Afternic
  • no promocodes needed most of the times
  • fast transfer
  • no negative aura when one is on the site. . like one gets on Godaddy.
Dynadot - Total control, keys are yours, peace of mind
Godaddy - Daylight robbery.

Only thing that bugs is relative time out - re-sign in. . .
It's a trouble when adding a bunch of names slowly to cart and when checking out. , only to force-sign out . , then sign-in . . and the names in the cart gone kaput !. . . have to do it all over again. , but faster this time. clock's ticking!

2021 overall, 3D !! . . Domain - Dynadot - Dan.
And the Dynadot banner hanging over here for a good time.. that's a good thing!

Good day

Agreed. I am surprised how dynadot has received the most votes here on a domaining forum. Dynadot has the worst control panel I have ever used, has weird security rules when updating domain settings, etc. It's almost impossible to manage domains at dynadot.

I didn't see any ;) So I guess you must be serious. For me it's the exact opposite. I love it, and it's the best control panel on the planet :) It does way more than you can ask from a Control Panel. Wonderful! Really.

NamePros decided to run the "Registrar of the Year" poll right on the heels of the very high profile NP Epik hack thread that I am referring to as a "struggle session".
To be clear, NamePros had no role in the decision of when this poll would run, and we didn't know about the poll until it was posted.

But Rob is making a habit of attacking us for new polls that are created after the poll that Epik won:
Rob blamed us for the next poll, calling us thuggish for allowing a community-decided poll to run
Should all registrar polls be forbidden after Epik won, @Rob Monster?

It was won fairly and we deserved it.
Then you can do it again; quit blaming us for your declining performance in the polls.

We have nothing to do with it.

I have spoken to the mods, I thought I clicked make public but must not have.

The mods assured me that when the poll ends,

We will do a quick analysis at the end to remove votes by Verified Company Representatives if they voted for their own company.

When I hear Dynadot from someone I straight away know that I deal with a mediocre domainer or a person who sell mainly to other domainers.
Dynadot does not offer a fast domain transfer to other registrar, so transfer takes 5-7 days.
What kind of business mentality someone has to have to allow clients wait 7 days and wait even longer for the payment while with other registrars transfer it would take few minutes.

There is no explanation even in Dynadot prices because there are registrars which are cheap and offer fast transfers e.g. porkbun.
I don't want even mention dyndot chat which is basically bot an an email sport so no instant reply like e.g. with namecheap but waiting for a reply.

I think your remarks shows a lot about your ignorance of Dynadot.

Who voted for what? The votes are no more public. Not good. It might be useful to start showing this info after December 31st though (less unproductive discussions).

How did you choose what order these were listed in?

Wouldn't something like alphabetical make it easier?

Brad

I just started adding Brad to be honest, and then I added more than we ever had, I read one time one person liked Hostinger so I added them, one person 123-Reg.

Not to be mean or rude but it's always going to come down to 1 of 5 registrars as the winner in my opinion.

Dynadot, Epik, Namecheap, GoDaddy, NameSilo a couple others who have been up and coming like Porkbun and Sav.

Thanks for the links.

You can see the trend there. The rise of Dynadot and fall of GoDaddy when it comes to domain investors.

GoDaddy is still my preferred registrar, but I think GoDaddy could do a lot better when it comes to engagement with the domain investment community. They certainly have the resources to dedicate more to that.

There are a lot of common complaints when it comes to GoDaddy's system and domain management. GoDaddy would probably do well to collect this feedback from the investment community.

@Paul Nicks and @Joe Styler do all they can do on NamePros while also having a full time job, but for a large domain forum it would probably make sense to dedicate more resources here.

This is a multi-billion dollar company. You figure dedicating one or a handful of people to a full time job would make sense as a liaison between GoDaddy and the largest domain investment forum.

Post from Rob Monster from the Dead Forum:

Surprise, surprise. NamePros decided to run the "Registrar of the Year" poll right on the heels of the very high profile NP Epik hack thread that I am referring to as a "struggle session". You can see the poll here:
https://www.namepros.com/threads/your-favorite-registrar-of-the-year-2021.1255863/page-4
Traditionally these NP polls were run at most once per year. Lately they get run much more often. Epik won the poll in March 2020. I think that was not the plan of NP's owners/sponsors. It was won fairly and we deserved it.

Back then you had to pick one. Later the model was changed so you could pick up to 3 instead of just 1. This change in polling method made it easier to amplify Dynadot since logically they were in most people's top 3. Duh.

In December 2020, JB Lions ran a new poll. This new poll, was run by someone who at the time was a hardened anti-Epik campaigner. That thread was its own struggle session. There is apparently a new team of "JB Lions" now.

In the past you could see who voted but now only the moderators can see who voted so the framework for ballot stuffing and removal of votes is in place.

I am hearing reports that persons who are voting for Epik, or otherwise advocating for Epik in the comments, are receiving private DMs. If that is really happening at scale, it fits the sad profile of the struggle session. How lame!

While the exact nature of Dynadot's special relationship with Godaddy and NamePros is not a matter of public record, I believe there is a triumvirate of some kind that is apparently supposed to lock down the domainer channel.

For those of you who do courageously choose to think for yourselves, and not be brigaded by the NP hive-mind, we appreciate your support. May God bless you and yours and may your domain portfolios be abundantly prospered!

Just remember, all providence is from above. I explained this secret about domain investing on Namepros here. For anyone who really wants the deep dive, I recommend my favorite book of the last 500 years published for free here.

Brad

I can say this over the years I have mentioned similar sentiments to people at many industry participants, and most told me they were not interested in my thoughts, they were not going to engage more.

I always try to let people know when they are being talked bad about so they can address, it's a service I provide to advertisers as an extra set of eyes.

I will say guys like @matt_bodis and @DAN.COM usually are like thanks we will look into it right away, same with @namesilo. @Paul Nicks certainly has too when I have emailed him something.

But many don't seem to care as much or they might not have the people to dedicate to it.

I do think the polls tell an interesting story, you see how some have fallen out of favor and others are on the up tick.

I am just curious what would be the results if we have
Your Worse Registrar of the year 2021
Because in the Favorite Registrars vote you only see the good things about them

We need to know which one has the bad things.
IMO

In the interest of transparency, our team has voted for Google, Dynadot, NameSilo, and GoDaddy in past polls. These were solely our personal opinions as customers.

However, our access to vote in polls was removed a while ago after a decision was made that we shouldn’t use mod accounts to vote our personal opinions, so our votes won’t be reflected this year.

May the best registrar win!

Porkbun is my favorite registrar. They have competitive pricing and great bulk domain management options.

I'm actually wondering, what makes for a good and favorite registrar? Why do people favor one over another might be the most important thing to know. Some people just like one registrar without ever trying another. Does that make one better than another? For me is as long as they have good prices, good security and an easy interface to work with.

I think for many price is number one, we did have a poll years ago and price was number 1 in importance, then security was number 2.

- Security

- Ease of use

Those would all be at the top of my list.

Rob Monster is busy spreading conspiracy theories about this poll on the other website.

This includes everything from the timing of the poll, to the methodology, to alleging that people voting for or supporting Epik are receiving private DMs, to NamePros "special relationship" with GoDaddy and Dynadot, etc.

I'm with Rob on this one to be honest.

The title of this thread is "Your Favorite Registrar of the Year 2021" , Registrar not RegistrarS" so we should be allowed to pick only one registrar, the MOST favorite of them all.

By allowing three choices, in some cases what Rob said above might happen.

Who decided to change this from one to three and for what purpose? I find this silly tbh

Full disclosure: My first vote went to Dynadot anyway and will go to Dyna this year even if there will be only one choice allowed.

2nd Disclosure: Epik was not on my top 3 this year, not because of their recent issues but because they've been kicked out of Afternic fast transfer program.

In order for the results to be fair, Rob should shut up and stop complaining or whining.
Beside the votes come from namepros members so don’t blame namepros.

I think it says A LOT, that PorkBun are in fourth place and trouncing even GODADDY. I think what it is saying is GoDaddy is a Retailer of domains to end users, with not many passionate people registered here on NP's, whereas PorkBun is directly going after the domainer market segment, who naturally are registered at NP's. It also says something about all the bugs I see on almost every page I visit in GoDaddy and their pricing, which doesn't make them domain friendly either. I think GoDaddy tolerate lots of bugs. Like being logged in or not logged in alternatively on the same url. Shame on them. I think they have almost NOTHING going for them as a Registrar. I also think the some people (domainers) who think they provide a wealth of opportunity, is flawed because the transfer process takes care of the registrar the buyer wishes to use. In most cases of fixed priced sales.
