You sold it to an end-user and then the name dropped

I have had this experience with two low to mid $xxx names that I sold to two different end-users. After I sold the names, the end-users let them drop. I guess it has happened to some of you as well.

For example, I once or twice heard Adam Dicker say he has sold the same name to an end-user about three times.

Any similar experience?

Indeed :)
We sold some domains twice, after the 1st buyer(s) failed to renew their purchased domain on-time, we acquired the domain(s) in question again. Sold again to another buyer...

ONE domain from our portfolio was sold three(!) times this way. The funniest thing is that... we acquired it again after it dropped in 2014, now waiting for the 4th buyer

Thanks for your comment. I wanted to add what happened with one of my names. The name is DigitizeBook.com. I once contacted a few end-user for this domain and one of them showed interest. The quoted price was $1800. The end-user complained it was too much and made a $500 offer.

Have in mind that this was a hand-registered name. I decided to pass on the offer, but a couple of months later contacted the same end-user accepting their $500 offer. They were no longer interested.

A couple of years later, not to far from the domain's drop day, a small company offered $100 for it and sticked to that offer. I decided to let it go because I was planning to drop it anyways. So the name was sold for $100. A year later, the name dropped and it is back again in my portfolio. This name does not want to leave me...

It's nice to get names back like that, like an old friend. Haven't sold any 3 times yet, but working on it.

Sold one for 1k, dropped, picked it back up as figured I'm $991.53 in the profit zone so a few years renewals to try my luck again worth the gamble.

LOL yup, this is happened to me on a few occasions as well.. Never understood why some people would pay so much for something only to let it drop a year later. Must be nice to have that kind of money laying around!
