Nice sale

Right name, right time, right place

before the CHIP craze, this is why 4L's had value

it is and was a CHIP

and bought it because of it is a CHIP

additionally looked very nice like yacht
And so has additional western meaning

Maybe the original owner Yuchang Tractor bought it back to revive the company. :)

I thought BrandBucket never negotiated on price. Did you lower it down from $9,995 before the sale or did they make a lower offer? BrandBucket has a nice racket going. They made $2,500 for doing nothing. That's insane. This name is so niche specific that it had to sell through direct navigation.

thats not my result of this sale
as domain was unlisted at brandbucket at the time
and showing a 404 error instead of a cute landing page

shows to me
landing pages doesn't matter
when an end user wants a domain

and shows to me
"if you want all the chips, don't send traffic to somebody elses landing page"

do you think they promoted a domain that was unlisted from a closed account???
and never done so before in more then a year???

I am happy to pay 30% commission to anybody who is promoting my domains an creates a sale based on their own efforts.

But meanwhile I am reluctant to pay somebody a commission based on my domain traffic.
Thats why I put a lot of effort to create a decent landing page for my domains
and have a semi automated sales process in place
that has a lot of features the standard places don't supply

For example currency convertion and VAT based on visitors location

( even german based sedo doesn't bother to take the german VAT (./.19% ) into the equation
which is costing me .. minus 19% on any german customer )

it is possible the buyer saw the domain in their newsletter.

it also also possible that an end user contacted BB and asked them to locate a domain for a yachting website and they recommended your one. Either way, BB has proven once again they are the authority in domain sales to end users.
