:talk:

Jason, obviously "HE Can" buy those terms and stick them with an irrelevant extension.

there is no logic behind the madness with these gtld registrations.

Pray tell my why you think these were not kept back by the registry and were only ordinary regfee to register? Then pray tell my why you think these were not snaffled up the very moment that registrations were opened? Then pray tell me why you were so (un)fortunate to be the first to register them?

I don't know anything about the .email GTLD. Does it allow you to have a website, or is it only for email? If it allows websites, who in their right mind is going to visit taxi.email or pizza.email?

It does allow you to have a website, but even im not daft enough to think thats where its at.Of course no one will visit an email website. There are still a lot of taxi companies and pizza companies out there that require email communications. Some of which might pay more than I got them for to have a memorable email address . And i didn't pay stupid money at all.

Well

[email protected] it could work but i dont think people have geo specific emails, its usually generic.

if someone has sally.email they can have [email protected] if they really needed to specify a place. Also take into account china has just gotten extensions in their language.

dont forget .mail and .post are coming out

i have made these mistakes too i regged ThePizza.Menu but it was a dumb reg and i dropped it. "the" makes it unworthy.

If one can email a pizza order or call a taxi via email, then maybe, but it's a stretch, given that one is more likely to do this via apps and sms.

On the other hand, I remember when people were poking fun at the idea of a 3dPrinter...

[email protected] doesn't flow. They will use [email protected] or get there own extension if they are big enough.

Maybe you can offer free sub directories [email protected] [email protected] but i dont think it will be huge.

i wonder if adding a s to a name will have more value for .email

Toms.email rather than Tom.email

[email protected]

[email protected]

adding the s sounds better.

another valid point. But i saw it more as

[email protected]
enquiries@taxi
quotes@taxi
bookings@

papajons@pizza
shopname@pizza
deliveries@pizza
supplies@

don't know....im obviously way of mark and being daft.

Probably one of the bigger wastes of money, this extension. Most people already have their email address. Can't really make a site on this.

"There are still a lot of taxi companies and pizza companies out there that require email communications."

And because of .email, they can now use email, yay. How did they manage before this. How would that work exactly:

contact at pizzahut.com

vs.

contactpizzahut at pizza.email

or what?

It's purely vanity, personal use type stuff. And based on early numbers, looks like it's going to do better than most new ones out. Hilarity ensues.

Listen to the old school guys, i have returned or cancelled 20 domains now due to input from people here. I have 5-6 i should not have reg'd and or missed the grace delete period.

I have around 20 very nice new gtlds too. :)

Pre reg price? Ok so that is how much?

Quick answer, if you do that for, say, 100 extensions, then yeah I'll get you a swell knitted dunce cap off of Etsy dot COM.
