Here are some words and phrases I see all too often, that folks should avoid putting into their domain name inquiries:

1. student
2. non-profit
3. reasonable
4. I'm a broker
5. we have a client
6. starting a blog
7. we don't have a large budget
8. I'm a serious buyer
9. if you have a list of other domains
10. this email is not spam

Which other words and phrases are a turn-off, if you're a domain name owner receiving an inquiry?

1. Any angry worded offer that includes the f word once or many times 🤦‍♂️
2. Opening offer of a million
3. Justifications on why you should sell to them cheap. NOW.
4. Insulting the intelligence or anything else about the seller (attempted manipulation)

Insightful @GeorgeK

Even if you are a student, a broker, a reasonable person, a serious buyer...try to be a little different with the approach, standout

Other: An email that hasn't had much effort put into it. If you seriously want a domain, talk about your intentions, or other convincing pieces of information. Let a seller "feel" that you are indeed "the buyer" (it helps)
