Once more a dot info domain has a tm running behind it from the Sunrise Period.
I won this domain 2 days ago and just today i did my research about it.(i always do this)
I contacted afilias.info and asked if that domain had a tm lock.
He replied in half an hour that:

"Makis,

Domain is under registry lock due to sunrise. Its currently being looked
into by the legal counsel and may be equitably redistributed sometime in the
future.
"

I just forwarded that email to the sedo representative that is involved with this auction and i ll be waiting for their reply.

I lost my time and i was just about to loose my money :td:

ps: namepros.com made me look into this after reading all this topics that have related info.
Thanx so much namepros and all of its users :xf.love:

Damn, sorry to read what happened.

IMHO a little more research before bidding could help. But...at least you took
action right away.

Hope your issue gets resolved quickly.

He's referring only to the .info domain name that, unfortunately, still has some
lingering legal issues from the original sunrise period where TM holders got first
dibs. Only Afilias knows what's going on with that.

Gianni we have some greeks and here and one Cyprus guy as well.
Info domains were released back at 2001 from a company called Afilias.
They opened a time period in which companies would reg their tm's as info domains. In that period you could buy a domain only if u had the tm on ur side for that name.
After some yrs some of these domains dropped(they didnt renew them) and went into auctions(like snapnames has). People bid on them and bought them. When they started transfer procedure they realised that some of that domains were locked by Afilias because they belonged to that tm period.
Afilias said that even if a tm domain drops it can not be transfered to a new owner so they lock it.(Afilias is the holder of all info domains)

That lead into confusion because many buyers as they found out that they couldnt really hold that domains, so after some time they got refounded by auction companies(like snapnames)

In my case now;
I won an auction held by sedo for a nice info domain.
After that i sent an email to Afilias asking if that domain had a tm lock or not so i wont send my money for nothing.
They replied that it has a tm running so i contacted sedo and told them i m not going to send them any of my money.

Hope i made things more clear for u!

ahh.. yes it was very help full.. i didn't know that you can not register a dropped domain that has TM issues. I thought that if it's dropped it's all ok.
