I can honestly say - nope.

Dictionary.com sold for so much because of the developed series of sites as well as the traffic that was built up and the revenue it was generating. The domain name by itself, if undeveloped would fetch good change, but not 100 million without its development.

So... I suppose the lesson here is traffic is key.

Agreed - but not only traffic, but good traffic. Specifically: the users are almost all English speaking, highly educated, and searching for something in particular (Not random stumblers just seeing what is out there). As well, the site is part of a fully developed network of reference sites that have each keyword locked down for their respective uses (reference.com , etc.)
