Dear friends,

Please help if you know anything about the sinking of the .tv domain websites on search engines results.
I've heard rumors that due to global warming, island of Tuvalu is sinking and because of that the future of the .tv domain is unknown... therefore search engines constricted .tv domain websites to show on search results as they were showing before.

for example, Hotels.tv was ranked 1st, when you enter 'hotels' and now you can't find it in first 100 search results when you enter the same 'hotels' keyword...

I don't understand this sudden change and I'm worried for my .tv domain websites.

If anyone has idea what is going on and what is the future of the .tv domain please help.

Thanks!

One reason may be due to the fact that it's a ccTLD (and subject to its whims, as well as those of Verisign) for the teeny isle of Tuvalu; and this adds further to its uncertainty IMHO. :guilty:

Welcome to the #1 Namepros .TV Forum™ :yell: :talk:

Interesting observation.

I have no idea why you see any difference in .TV search rankings at all.

What about YOUR .TV websites? What WAS their ranking, and what is it now? Care to share any of your sites, maybe someone here can help you out by actually seeing and troubleshooting some of your .TV sites.

If you are worried that much, pm me your list of .TV's,
If they are decent, I will take them ALL off of your hands, and then you will have no more .TV worries:)

Thanks,
Vito.

When Tuvalu will sink nobody will be able to see Television again.
So it will be the death of TV.
But I'm a fair person, PM me the list of your .tv domains and, maybe, I'll give you 5$ each.

Hotels.tv never ranked #1, not true. Google does not back anything you aid here. Interesting first post.

woohoo

Drop 'em if you are uneasy with the "news" is the only advice I can relay to you as someone will more than likely pick them up if they are worthy names.

As for me:

.tv - I Like It!

Yo woohoo,

my sincere apologies.

I really thought since you posed a statement about hotels.tv being #1, and Equity confirming it never was...then you not listing any .TV's that you actually owned, I thought you were an anti-tv guy trying to drum up another trolling debate here...which there has been too much of lately.

I'm sorry, and I will sit this one out, and hopefully someone can answer your question.

Good Luck with your site Bro.

Vito.

Thank you anyway.

If you gotta nice site, let it roll...

It's NOT stopping people frome Europe, Asia and now the USA from putting up .tv sites. .tv isn't going anywhere whether Tuvalu does or not.

It's called the bottom line.

Classic example of people jumping the gun....something I am working extremely hard NOT to do anymore.

Apologies Woohoo and if I may explain their initial hostility, there are a few members here who spend their every waking moment on this forum trying to stir up trouble.

And so alot of people are really sensitive now to this continued barrage of anti tv trashtalking.

So alot of guys just thought you were here to troll and not a genuine guy seeking advice.

I just checked your site. I cannot answer your questions cause it is not part of my knowledge area, but I can say it looks pretty cool.

Best of luck with your site

Welcome.

My .TV sites have steadily moved up in Goog and all other search engines, so its not a .TV thing. Goog has been rolling out a new algorithm -called 'Caffeine', btw, perhaps this is having some impact on your sites.

Trading.TV that has only been up and running for two months has already got well over 100 pages indexed in Google.....

I think the issue really is how sharp are you SEO skills or the skills of the people you hire....

But since I know so little myself about SEO, I have no idea what Im talking about!!

what was the highest ranking for your term in the past?

as for your site, get SEO'd backlinks and SEoptimize content on your homepage at least for your main term. it looks that your term is very competitive to be ranked for the term in the domain only. just my 5 kopeks.

Even if the island sank, the .tv extension would live on. Look at russia for instance. After the Soviet Union disbanded the .su was not retired because of the amount of disruption it would have caused.

If the extension is highly used, and people are running successiful businesses with it, they will not just pull the rug out from under anybody or any business.

Enjoy

Eric

Search engine rankings don't fall because of the domain extention.
